Color Corrector- melasma

I have melasma above my lip and on my cheekbones. I am looking for something that will mask these marks. I've tried Kat Von D concealer, Estee Lauder concealer, BOING concealer, dermablend concealer and nothing is working. I'm wondering if a color corrector is the way to go at this point. I have olive skin and any product that i put on over these areas you can still see the shadows of the melasma. Any suggestions?

Re: Color Corrector- melasma

I have it, too. I think it's all in how you apply the concealer. A Sephora SA applied CoverFX's concealer on me and it covered every brown spot. It was the first thing that ever did. When I tried to replicate it myself at home, the brown spots still showed. Ask a good SA for tips. I've found what works is a medium coverage foundation with multiple, thin layers of a full coverage concealer (the Cover FX, or Nars also works well. So does Lancome's) over it. It's better to let a little melasma show through than to wind up caking on makeup to try to cover it all. That looks worse! Hope that helps.

go check out Bailey Sarian's youtube channel! She has the same condition and she has lots of videos you can check out to see what products works for her (:

If you want a cheap but good color correcting palette just to see if color correcting could help, the NYX Color Correcting Concealer palette is great ($12 for six colors and you can find it at the drugstore, Target, etc.).
