COLORIQ HELP

Hey guys, so Sephora color matched me to 360 in Fenty beauty which looks very ashy on my skin tone. I wear Amber in ABH stick foundation and Cadiz in NARS. Could anyone help me in the right direction for a better match with fenty beauty?

Re: COLORIQ HELP

According to the online Color IQ, ABH Foundation stick in Amber matches to 2Y11. 2Y means the shade has slightly warm (yellow) undertones and 11 means it's a darker shade on the spectrum.

Cadiz in the NARS foundation stick matches to 1Y11, so  less yellow than Amber for more of a neutral undertone. Although, I typically find NARS runs fairly warm.

According to the Color IQ online, 2Y11 matches to 360 in the Pro filt'r Fenty foundation and 1Y11 matches to 350.

Fenty describes 360 as being for tan to deep skin with neutral olive undertones. 350 is for tan skin with neutral undertones. I'm wondering if 350 might be a better match for you, in case it's the olive undertones in 360 that are looking too ashy on you if you don't have olive undertones. 370 or 390 might be other options if you need a darker, warm shade. If you need cooler undertones, I'd look into 380 (but I suspect you're more of a neutral-warm undertone based off your matches in Amber and Cadiz).

If you're finding the 360 match is too ashy, I'd suggest going in-store to test out the shades. The Color IQ is a helpful tool, but in this case you may need in-store assistance to try out the colours since the matching isn't resulting in a good match for you.

Re: COLORIQ HELP

That's a very neutral/olive shade, so it might help to swing either more cool/red or warm/yellow (the ABH you mentioned is yellow undertone and the NARS is more red, so I'm not sure which would be the best start - 330 would give you more yellow, and 350 would give more red.) Maybe try searching for social media posts and reviews with wear tests from people close to your skin tone? (Also, I know a lot of videos have mentioned that had to go lighter than normal because of the shade drying down darker.) IMG_7563.PNG
