Re: Boscia black mask

Hi Beauties,

We want to make sure that you feel comfortable using Luminizing Black Mask! Please avoid the eye area! Apply a thick, opaque, even layer to clean, dry skin. Avoid eye area, eyebrows, hairline, and lips. Leave on for 30 minutes or until completely dry. Gently peel off mask from outer edges, working down from forehead to chin, and rinse off any residue. We hope that you love the amazing results and experience of the mask.

XOXO Boscia

Re: Boscia black mask

Ok, the mask is definitely not comfortable, and there are plenty of other masks out there which offer the same effects. However, for me personally, I used up one full size of the Boscia black mask, decided to try about 5 other alternatives, and ended up going back to the Boscia black mask. When I have a lapse in my skincare routine (due to being on vacation or swamped with life in general), I find my skin to be extra clogged and dirt prone, for some reason, this product just works for me. I'm not saying its consistently effective for every skin type, but for me specifically, it just works. "No pain, no gain" and in my case, until I find a more effective alternative, it does the "dirty work" for me, and I will need to suffer for vanity lol.

RE: Boscia black mask

This mask is so overrated

RE: Boscia black mask

I used this mask twice and gave it away. It is incredibly painful and irritating. My face was red and sore. No way causing that much irritation is good for your skin. It's their number one selling product but I don't get it at all.

Re: Boscia black mask

Good info here! Thanks guys 🙂

Re: Boscia black mask

@EllaClaireC yes it hurts. Enough to make my eyes water anyway. @greeneyedgirl107 I really need to do better with looking up ingredients before putting things on my face arbitrarily. I had no idea! Yikes. But back to the mask, I'm not sure what toxins it's removing. It didn't pull out blackheads like a porestrip. It doooooooes however, rip all the filaments and peach fuzz off of your face. The lady I go to for laser hair removal said that waxing works in much the same way as lasers, inasmuch as it damages the follicle so over time it traumatizes it to the point hair will no longer grow. In addition to not looking up ingredients I also haven't researched that claim.....sooooo this is all in my opinion and with no real backing. But with eyebrow hairs plucking them the same for years has stopped a lot of the growth for me so it makes sense in my mind. But yeah, I liked using the mask but I'm using it to clear hair not pores, so not for it's intended purpose. Which I'd never recommend intentionally of course. I hope that helps?

@liv545

Thanks so much for that...I just got a sample of this for the first time, and was curious if peach fuzz destruction might be a (very welcome!) side effect.

I started a hair loss shampoo a few months back, and it seems to be working. Unfortunately, my facial hair near my hairline loves it too 😕

Re: Boscia black mask

@RGbrown glad I could be of help!

Re: Boscia black mask

@EllaClaireC A lot of people are into this, and it's definitely got PR behind it.  I haven't tried it, and here's why (per beautypedia.com review):

Reading the long list of claims made for this mask, it’s hard for us to imagine anyone believes this stuff, but, alas, many women do. As enticing as the claims are, the ingredient list tells a different story, and it’s not one with a happy ending. Using this peel-off mask exposes your skin to a drying, irritating amount of polyvinyl alcohol (a hairspray ingredient, listed second), witch hazel water (which is part alcohol), pine bark, and fragrant rosemary oil. What a pathetic group of ingredients for any skin type.

As for the toxins that this allegedly pulls from your skin, no one at Boscia could tell us what those toxins are or why the ingredients they included were “toxic” on their own? The soothing agents this mask contains are too little, too late; they can’t make up for the irritation caused by the other ingredients.

Jar Packaging:No
Tested on animals:Yes

So I guess you need to make your own decision.  Good luck!
