Black or Red Dress?

Why do we all love black and red dresses for our special day?  Only fair people can wear dark colors?

Re: Black or Red Dress?

I am not a big fan of black clothes, and dark in general. Prefer bright colors when it comes to my wardrobe.

Re: Black or Red Dress?

Some people even have black wedding dresses.

I am definitely more classy and prefer a white color for this event.

Re: Black or Red Dress?

Black actually washes me out and I don't wear a lot of it. I have a work-appropriate red long-sleeve midi dress from Black Halo that I wear for important work events, and I always get a ton of compliments on it, from both men and women ( very professional comments, as in,  "that's a really nice dress," and "you look very nice in that color."). Red is really great when you want to stand out.

Re: Black or Red Dress?

Hi, @Anonymous

Black - neutral color, looks good on almost anyone, slimming, tends to look more "expensive", the right dress can be very versatile, black is often appropriate for more occasions, black can look more formal

Red - more festive, more attention-getting, exudes power and energy, is often associated with love

I don't think red or black is for any specific person. Anyone can look good in the right shade of red, and black looks good on just about anyone.
