Best way to apply foundation

New to makeup I usually just use my hand but looking for the best way to apply

I use my fingers a lot too. That's just what used when I started wearing makeup 20ish years ago. I have tried brushes and sponges and they all seem to have their advantages and disadvantages, but I still end up falling back on my fingers and smoothing everything out with a sponge.

I use a brush for thinner, liquidy formulas, and a sponge for thicker consistency formulas.  A sponge will easily soak up liquidy foundations.  What foundation are you using?

A Beauty Blender sponge or a foundation brush. I like the brush better myself but it's all in your preference. I use a short, densely packed brush. That seems to work better for my skin.
