Best Translucent Setting Powder

Which one is better for those who have tried both: hourglass veil translucent setting powder or Laura mercier translucent powder?!

Re: Best Translucent Setting Powder

I prefer the Hourglass powder by far because it’s talc-free. The Laura Mercier breaks me out, and doesn’t sit on my skin as well.

Re: Best Translucent Setting Powder

For me, the Hourglass Veil setting powder is much better than the Laura Mercier setting powder. The only place I’ve used either powder is under my eyes, which is the driest skin on my face. The LM powder is too drying and cakey for me. Hourglass Veil isn’t my absolute favorite setting powder, but I do still use it occasionally—and I’ll never use the LM powder again.

Your mileage may vary, of course. You might find that the LM powder works better for you. Sephora sells minis of both powders, so you can try both without paying for the full sizes. A Sephora employee might also be able to make a free small sample of each powder in-store for you.

@erinnnn101  I actually prefer the Hourglass powder; the LM seems to emphasize my texture and I find that it's a little too mattifying and heavy-looking on my skin.

Thank you!!

@erinnnn101,

I have tried the Laura Mercier powder and find that it makes my foundation look smoother. It also does not feel heavy on my skin!
