Teen Boys Skincare

What products are suggested for boys?  15yo has lots of blackheads on nose & chin area, chicken skin in the hollows of his cheeks and the odd forehead pimple. I was thinking the first aid cleanser but any other suggestions would be great.

Re: Teen Boys Skincare

hey! im 14 and have pretty much the same problems. glossier, belif and klairs are my main brands, check them out!

Re: Teen Boys Skincare

I love these cleansers and I would recommend any! The ExfoliKate Cleanser has a 1.7 size which is a bit more affordable if you wan't to test the waters of how his skin reacts to exfoliation. it is more on the gentle spectrum using a mix of AHA's. The other two choices are a little bit stronger with a blend of AHA's & BHA's (basically ingredients that detox and help with skin regeneration). Make sure he is also using a moisturizer and sunscreen daily as well when he is using exfoliating products!

Re: Teen Boys Skincare

@rockshy Liquid cleanser is first up; I love Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser.

Chemical exfoliation: BHA product; Paula's Choice makes the best - you can start with the 2% but I adore the BHA 9

Mechanical exfoliation: Neutrogena has some great scrubs, just stay away from the scented ones.  My favorite, though, is Philosophy Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash

Throughout the day: Oil blotting sheets; Target makes some good ones on the cheap

Spot treatment: Clean & Clear PersaGel

If you need some extra help, consider Retin-A.

Good luck!

Re: Teen Boys Skincare

Hi @rockshy,

I actually think the First Aid Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser With Red Clay is great for a teenager with acne prone skin.

The Jack Black Deep Dive™ Glycolic Facial Cleanser would be great as well as it smooths the skin and draws out impurities.

I hope this helps!

Best Wishes,

Janean

Re: Teen Boys Skincare

I would start building a routine. The first aid cleanser is good, or any other bland cleanser. You'll also need some sort of moisturizer. The first aid one was a bit heavy for me. I use fresh lotus youth preserve, but a simple moisturizer like cerave or cetaphil should work just fine.

To to treat the blackheads, a BHA/salicylic acid should help. Something like stridex.
