Starting from Scratch

I am creating a skincare routine basically from scratch. I’ve mostly only played around with products before. So I’m looking for cleansers to try while I finish my sun screen research.

My default cleanser is one I buy from the Japanese grocery store (Kracie Naive foaming peach cleanser), but looking around for something new. A friend sent me the belif Aqua Bomb Hydrating Jelly Cleanser 5.41 oz/ 160 mL  and I recently got the Glow Recipe Blueberry Bounce Gentle Cleanser 5.41 oz/ 160 mL. The belif works pretty well, but it’s a tiny bit stripping for me on a daily basis. The Glow Recipe makes my skin pretty dry with repeated use (a bit more than the belif).

What other recommendations does everyone have? I get oily on my nose and cheeks, but not my forehead and everything else is normal to dry depending on the day (it’s winter so dry half the time but not flaking levels). Clean and Korean are preferred but not required at all— super open.

Re: Starting from Scratch

Hi,

I have combo skin and double cleanse I've been trying various products but my staples are Fresh Seaberry oil cleanser followed by inky list salicylic acid cleanser- I have some acne and it has really smoothed out my skin. I also really like Korres Greek yogurt it addressed a lot my redness starting out

Hey @JaAmy I have combination skin as well and I love Youth to the people's cleanser, it's deep cleans but doesn't dry out my skin at all, and it's a great experience. It's worth the coin but it also comes in a 2oz bottle if you want to test it before buying a larger bottle.

@NatashaTendai
Thanks! That’s the one that Hyram on YouTube always recommends so I was curious about it but scared it’s drying. Maybe I’ll give it a try after all though.

Re: Starting from Scratch

Ooh! love Hyram's advice on skincare products! I actually bought the YTP trial sizes because he suggested this cleanser. He was spot on and I was thoroughly impressed. I've been using it for over a year and my skin has never felt so clean and hydrated. I'm hunting to find an equivalent cleanser that is lower priced but the YTP cleanser lasts for a long time because you really don't need to use a lot. Wishing you luck with this one and hope you find what you need 🙂
