Serums vs Basics: What Actually Matters

These days, Vitamin C, Niacinamide, and Hyaluronic Acid are everywhere. People say they brighten, hydrate, and make the skin glow. But the real question is: are they truly essential, or just marketing hype? In my opinion, a basic routine like cleansing, moisturizing, and sunscreen is far more important.

Re: Serums vs Basics: What Actually Matters

I get your point, and I feel that beauty marketing is overwhelming and so influential Nonetheless as customers we have to be aware of what we really need, on what our concerns are, non related to your age because I am 22, and I know that if I don’t take care of my skin now, it will look damaged in the matter of a few years from now, yet I will have to take care of it later on. I personally perceived that the products I have are my prevention elements.

There are several products out there that should not be used by many people because they don’t really need them. The real question here is -do I need this on my routine?

Re: Serums vs Basics: What Actually Matters

@darwas @It really depends on the person and their skincare concerns. I didn’t need a vitamin c serum or Hyaluronic Acid when I was younger. When I hit my 30s I wanted to brighten and hydrate my skin and prevent fine lines and wrinkles and found that it helped my skins overall appearance.

Re: Serums vs Basics: What Actually Matters

At my age Vitamin-C is essential to my skincare routine.  It has anti-aging properties,  protects the skin from free radical damage.  And yes, sunscreen should be a part of everyone's morning skincare routine. @darwas
