Recommendations for anti-aging products for combo skin

Looking for recommendations for anti-aging products to use in your early 20’s as early defence.

My skin is combination with mild sensitivity, I also try to stay away from moisturizers that are too rich or have oils because I breakout.

Product recommendations are appreciated 🙂

Re: Recommendations for anti-aging products for combo skin

@Nvddb  What’s your current skincare routine (brands + product names)?

Broad spectrum sunscreen (at least SPF 30) is the best preventative anti-aging skincare product on the market. Many “signs of aging” are caused by UV damage. Do you already use a sunscreen each day your skin’s exposed to sunlight (even if you also wear a hat and sunglasses), all year long, regardless of weather or season?

Beyond that, I don’t want to recommend specific products without knowing your routine.

Hiii

So my current routine is-

•Biotherm biosource cleanser

•Lise Watier soothing rose petal gel toner

•Clinique moisture surge during the day, Reversa radiance glow glycolic moisturizer some nights

•It cosmetics confidence in an eye cream

and for sunscreen I’m currently using the shiseido urban environment 42 spf

Re: Recommendations for anti-aging products for combo skin

@Nvddb  Looks to me like you’ve got enough in your routine to reduce signs of aging, especially since you’re already a sunscreen user. Aside from UV damage, reduced collagen production is something to prevent. I looked up your current products and some of them contain plenty of hydrators, antioxidants, and some collagen boosters.

Some folks will recommend adding vitamin A. That’s the retinoid family: tretinoin (retinoic acid), retinaldehyde (retinal), retinol, etc. Vitamin A is both preventative and corrective: it can boost collagen prevention while speeding up the skin cell growth cycle. Whether or not you need it is entirely up to you and your particular skin’s condition. I use retinaldehyde more as a corrective ingredient for hyperpigmentation.

Vitamin A can be very irritating, especially in its pure retinoic acid form but also in derivative retinol form. So if you choose to add it to your routine, don’t go for something with the highest % right away. You’re in Canada, right? (Guessing that based on your current products.) I’m in the US, so I’m not sure which retinol products and strengths are available OTC where you live. Retinol’s effective at strengths as low as 0.02%, it just works slower than tretinoin which is prescription-only. Just something to keep in mind.

Oh, and a Sephora BIC tip: when you reply to folks, be sure to @ them so they’ll get a notification. Otherwise they might never see your reply. 🙂

@WinglessOne

I have used Retinol products to see how my skin would react and I've found that it works well for me.

Also I am in Canada, good guess lol.

The products I've tried that contain retinol are the Reversa Retin[A]list cream which contains pure retinol at 0.3% concentration and the Retinol B3 anti-aging serum by La roche posay with 0.1% pure retinol combined with 0.2% retinol palmitate (progressive retinol).

Thank you so much for your help! 🙂
