Moisturizer for Combo skin

Hello! I need help finding a light weight moisturizer for My combo skin.. something I can put on to prep my face before primer and makeup. I’m noticing my creams are making me a little cakey and move my makeup around about. I’m thinking maybe I need a gel moisturizer as creams are to heavy sometimes? What’s your favorite moisturizer your tried and true?!  😊 pores, uneven skin tone, combo,  oily tzone are some of my skin concerns if that helps any.. thank you I’m advance!

I have combination oily skin and I use Tatcha’s water cream moisturizer. It is lightweight, gel based and helps with minimizing my pores and keeps the oiliness at bay. 🙂

I love cera ves basic moisturizer for under my makeup. It can feel a bit thick, but it absorbs into my skin really well. A micellar water beforehand always helps my creams sink into my skin better. After it’s absorbed, try spraying a setting spray all over, using it as a primer instead of regular primer. I’ve found that and using a beauty blender with my cream or liquid foundations give beautiful results for me. I use the blender for my blush as well and it keeps the texture nice and smooth all over.

My skin is combo/oily most of the year.  The moisturizers I've personally had the best experience with layering under primer and foundation are Caudalie Vinosource Mattifying Moisturizer , and LaRoche-Posay's Effaclar Mat (available at ULTA, Walgreens, Target, et al). I usually different products at night, or on non-makeup days, to counteract the pore and pigmentation issues. I've also used primers that counteract the issues with pores and pigmentation.
