Loose setting powder

I'm looking for a loose powder for combination/oily skin that doesn't cake. I've tried so far the tarte one with the aqua lid, the urban decay one in a compact and the Kat Von d one but all aren't that good enough, any suggestions?

Re: Loose setting powder

ben nye banana powder is super popular, and elf or airspun is good if ur on a budget

Re: Loose setting powder

Hi there! My absolute FAVORITE is the Surratt Diaphane Loose Powder, but a close second is the Laura Mercier Translucent Powder. I also tend to be combo/oily... good luck 🙂

Re: Loose setting powder

@Anonymous I really really really like Nar's illuminating loose setting powder, however it has bad flashback if you take flash photography often.  Otherwise, it leaves a gorgeous finish on the skin and almost seems waterproof?! I accidentally got water on my face and it just dripped right off!

Re: Loose setting powder

I second this! and LM's translucent are my go -tos 🙂

Re: Loose setting powder

i am going to second @KatieJiang 's reco for the LM powder! i have combo skin, and don't like anything heavy, and it's perfect and never looks cakey!

Re: Loose setting powder

@Anonymous  I highly, highly suggest the Laura Mercier Translucent Powder! I have combo skin and I always use my damp Beauty Blender (the sides) to press the powder onto my face after I apply foundation. I also finish up my makeup with a setting spray and I dab my face with the sides of the damp Beauty Blender after spraying as well. I don't know if this helps the product soak into my face more, but I do know that it flattens the invisible hairs on my face to provide a smoother canvas. It also makes my makeup last longer, or maybe it's just a mentality thing and the Beauty Blender is just soaking up half of the setting spray on my face. Ha, but it works for me!

In summary: I highly suggest the LM Powder. Grab a sample from Sephora 🙂

Re: Loose setting powder

@KatieJiang @Anonymous I second the LM powder!

Re: Loose setting powder

Laura Mercier x 1000.

There's a reason why it's a HG product for so many. It does magical things to the skin, and can be used so many ways- dusting on with a brush, baking with a sponge, tidying up a contour, etc.

Sephora also sells the travel minis with puff near the register.

Re: Loose setting powder

Thank you I'll try it😊

Re: Loose setting powder

@Anonymous I am currently using the Lancôme loose powder. NARS also makes them and while I have not tried them personally I have heard good things.

Question, do you use a finishing spray?  I've found my overall makeup looks less cakey when I finish it with a spray.

Re: Loose setting powder

Yes I use the Gerard cosmetics slay all day currently, I'm not 100% happy with it but it will do for now I guess
