Looking for a toner/serum AM

Spoiler

Hi!

I am looking for a toner and or serum to use in my morning routine.
I currently use a Korean toner and moisturizer from my local health food store and by lunch my skin is an oil slick.
I have combo sensitive skin with hormonal breakouts. I love using oils I find it balances out my skin rather than products that are oil free which I find leaves me super oily.

I was looking at the Fenty beauty fat water. Would this product be good for my skin concerns? Could this also be used as a toner and serum in one? So I would only have to use this and then a moisturizer?

thank you!

Re: Looking for a toner/serum AM

Hi @Julia1159 ! You don’t necessarily need both toner and serum in your routine. Toners are arguably unnecessary; they’re mostly watered-down serums these days. That doesn’t mean they’re bad. (Example: for dry skin, a hydrating toner can be very helpful.) But don’t get hung up on toner as a mandatory step in a skincare routine.

I have mostly-dry combo skin. My oily zone is on and around my nose, and it quickly becomes a grease puddle if I slack on my skincare routine. Niacinamide helps manage and regulate oil production there. That ingredient’s in a lot of skincare products, but my skin responds well to a separate 5% or 10% serum. My favorite is Paula's Choice 10% Niacinamide Booster 0.67 oz/ 20 mL  because it also contains licorice root and allantoin, 2 good skin soothers (my skin’s quite reactive/inflammation-prone), plus CoQ10 which is a great antioxidant. Some folks like The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Oil Control Serum ; that one irritates my skin, but your mileage may vary since we don’t all have the same skin behaviors/sensitivities.

Thank you! You are so right I feel like I can save some money and time by skipping a toner.
