Highlighter without foundation….?

Can you use highlighter without any foundation/primer? Just natural skin and a cute lip colour? I’m very new to makeup and have really sensitive skin and react to a lot of products so I’m very reluctant to use foundation, though always loved the look of highlighter. And if you have any brand recommendations that’d be greatly appreciated x

Hi! To be completely honest, I find foundation makes my skin look worse instead of better, so I forego it altogether! No one needs foundation or any makeup to look beautiful!

I spend the majority of my days bare faced, but when I do wear makeup, I usually just wear a lip of some sorts with a little mascara and/or highlighter, or if I feel like wearing more, I'll usually do blush, eyeshadow, and/or eyeliner. When I wear makeup, I don't wear a lot. My favorite highlighter is the Saie Glowy Super Gel Lightweight Dewy Multipurpose Illuminator Starglow . Can never use another highlighter now!

I have sensitive skin too, so I only really use clean products (usually have less irritating ingredients). Every once in a while, I'll cover a really annoying pimple or (if I'm badly sleep deprived) dark circles with just a touch of concealer, but I let my acne scars and imperfections show!

@LittleFreak03  You can wear any makeup you want without foundation or primer. 🙂 Folks who say "you must start with a good base [meaning foundation]" forget or don't realize: 

1. That insults people who want to show their natural skin. 
2. Some people's skin won't tolerate many foundation formulas. 
3. Makeup in general, including foundation, is a personal choice and preference, not a "must." 

I never wear cream or liquid foundation. Lipstick is my first and greatest makeup love, so I frequently wear it—even if the only other makeup on my face is brow pencil. There's nothing wrong with wearing just lipstick and highlighter. Apply what you wanna wear. 

Do you happen to know some of the ingredients your skin's sensitive to? Example: my facial skin's very sensitive to lavender in all forms (oil, extract, and water), so I can't use facial products that contain it. My skin hates essential oils in general.

It’s not specific ingredients, I have a condition where I react spontaneously to things one day I’ll be fine with something the next day I’ll react to it - so I’m just generally really careful with what I put on my skin and I tend to use natural products.
