11 Year Old with Rosacea Makeup Products

Hey guys, my 11 year old daughter has been feeling really left out. She has rosacea and acne. All the girls at her school have been bulling her for not wearing any perfume or makeup. Do you have any recommendations for her? Anything that is light and won’t trigger it.

@BrilBun I'm so sorry to hear that.   Would you like some recommendations for skincare to get at the underlying issue?

In the meantime, mascara and lip gloss would be a good start.  For budget beauty, I like Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect mascara; NYX has a wide range of lip products, as does Sephora Collection.

I’ve been there. I have rosacea, acne-prone skin, and perineal dermatitis. And as a teen, I didn’t realize that piling makeup on my face made it worse. So, I don’t want to recommend you a bunch of makeup products,m. However, if she wants to cover her redness I with something tinted that will also calm the redness and provide some hydration, I recommend Tower 28 Beauty SunnyDays SPF 30 Tinted Sunscreen Foundation 10 Larchmont 

The fact that it has SPF is a plus. It’s lightweight, the coverage is buildable, and doesn’t have fragrance. Which is a big no no in the rosacea world. I’d also recommend a decent moisturizer to wear underneath if she doesn’t already have one. Something without fragrance or a bunch of alcohols. Sunscreen is also an absolute necessity! Not wearing sunscreen can make rosacea and acne even worse. I use one from the brand Prequel. It’s not at Sephora, but it’s a certified but the National Rosace Society. What’s better is that it isn’t crazy expensive either, so that’s awesome. 

I hope things get better for her. I understand how alienating school life can be when you aren’t confident in your appearance. It’s tough.. the key is to find what works for you and not let it discourage you from finding things that bring you joy. Things are gonna be okay. ❤️

@BrilBun  sorry to hear that, I have a ten year old sister her friends at school wear makeup but you could get her like a face mask for kiddos or like a cute little lipgloss I hope kids are nicer
