Weekend fun! I know we all love lists and questions of all different kinds here. Let's have fun and do a "natural" edition, for my "natural tribe" on here! 😉 Even if you are not really into the whole natural "thing", but there is something of the sort you do love, feel free to jump in and mention it.
So, what are your current natural skin care and hair care HGs?
Here are the categories:
Ooo, fun!
Cleanser: Maya Chia Great Cleanse and quite possibly JS Plie
Exfoliator: Does Mahalo Petal mask count?
Toner/mist: Odacite mists
Serum/treatment: tea tree oil
Oil: SR Juno and Kora Noni Oil right now
Moisturizer/cream: Josh Rosebrook Vital Balm Cream
Balm: Mahalo Rare Indigo
Mask: Mahalo Petal Mask
Shampoo:
Conditioner:
Hair mask:
Hair styling product:
My holy grail would have to be the balmyard beauty romantic call body oil. It’s amazing and it doesn’t have sunflower or safflower oil as a base like most body and face oils do.
This is so awesome 😘 congrats darling
I don't think products that "contain natural ingredients" belong in this list, so I only have a couple staples that are completely natural that I won't get rid of until they stop making them:
Concealer: Mineral Fusion Mineral Concealer Duo
Mask: evanhealy French Rose Clay mask
Shampoo: John Masters Organics Zinc & Sage Shampoo with Conditioner
Toner/Essence: organic rose water
General: organic castor oil - good for everything... quite literally
I don't have answers for everything, but here are mine!
Weeeeee here we go!
😄
Let's see...
1) Cleanser - Tata Harper Oil Cleanser
2) Exfoliator - Paula's choice 8% glycolic (ok, not so natural but...)
3) Toner/mist - Josh Rosebrook Accelerator mist
4) Serum/treatment - Vintner's daughter
5) Oil - Votary rose maroc and sandalwood oil
6) Moisturizer/cream - One love organics skin dew coconut water cream
7) Balm - May Lindstrom Blue Cocoon
😎 Mask - Aromatherapy Associates Mattifying deep cleanse mask
9) Shampoo - Oribe Gold Lust shampoo
10) Conditioner - Davines OI conditioner
11) Hair Mask - Oribe Gold Lust transformative mask
12) Hair Styling product - Aveda brilliant hair gel
I loooove products with beautiful, natural smells so pretty much every product I listed has a great smell and is naturally fragrant due to the ingredients (except Paula's choice, obvs). My best smelling product is the Davines OI. A great unisex scent that is otherworldly. Mmmmm
Ahhh I like this idea @lyravega! I don't have enough HG on my list yet to fill this. lol. Testing a few things to hopefully find some HG's in there. Omorovicza's Thermal Cleansing Balm and Consonant's HydrExtreme are two HG's for me though. Will also add my HG lip balm which is Intelligent Nutrients Lip Delivery Nutrition.
@lyravega I like Phyto for hair. I don't think it qualifies as natural, but is "natural-ish." I was sad to see that they have discontinued their Phytonectar. I still use the Phytodefrisant, though. I'm going to stock up before they discontinue that! Sephora no longer carries it!
Disclaimer - I don't try to use only natural products. Some of my favourite products are natural, some are not. Some are natural depending on who defines it. Most of my serums and exfoliators are not natural.
- Cleanser - All Tata Harper cleansers, Emma Hardie, Kat Burki cleansing balm, Oskia cleansing gel
- Exfoliator - N/A
- Toner/mist - May Lindstrom Jasmine Garden, Josh Rosebrook Hydrating Accelerator
- Serum/treatment -
- Oil - All oils from Vintners Daughter, UMA, Skinowl, Aurelia
- Moisturizer/cream - Tata Harper Rebuilding moisturiser, Kat Burki Vit C
- Balm
- Mask
- Shampoo - Josh Rosebrook
- Conditioner - see above
- Hair Mask - UMA Nourishing hair oil. I am trying it different ways, so this is a first impressions like. I will post a full review soon. ETA: This oil is okay, but I found I prefer my Macadamia oil still.
Also, I just want to say how much I love seeing so many enjoy both UMA and Aurelia oils.
1. Cleanser- Tata Harper Refreshing cleanser. It's a gentle cleanser that is perfect for me.
2. Exfoliatior: none
3. Toner/mist: I like plain Rosewater for both my face and hair
4. Treatment: Uma Clarifying oil- works so good at keeping my skin clear.
5. Oil: I like jojoba oil for my hair. If we"re talking another oil, I'd say Uma Ultimate brightening.
6. Moisturizer: Pai chamomile cream- I'm a big fan of this one. It's a calming, gentle cream.
7. Balm: no surprise- May Lindstrom The Blue Coccoon. Love this stuff.
8. Mask- Tata Harper Resurfacing and Uma Ultimate brightening. I love both of these. The resurfacing is gentle but effective and the brightening is truly a brightening treatment.
9. Shampoo: drug store brand- Camille rose naturals ginger cleanse. It doesn't strip my hair and it works to really clean.
10. Conditioner: carols daughter vanilla conditioner. I'm missing part of the name, but it's super hydrating and I love it.
11. Hair mask- TGIN Honey miracle mask. It's so hydrating and the smell of honey is divine.
12. Hair styling product: Camille Rose Fresh Curl conditioning treatment. It's so hydrating to curls. I'm a fan.
Oooh. Neglected to have the Uma oils on my list. Great products! I use the hair oil every week and it is fabulous.
Fun thread @lyravega! I really want someone to come along and offer some budget friendly things that are HG. My younger self would be horrified at all the money spent on things you can neither eat nor wear!
Cleanser - currently the Pixi Glow Mud is high on my list. But we are not in a committed relationship.
Exfoliator - Sunday Riley Good Genes, currently. But for winter skin DDG Retinol + Ferulic Peel Pads.
Toner/mist - I'm so ambivalent on toners and mists and essences. None I would call HG for me.
Serum/treatment - 11Huesday De-Spot Luminosity
Oil - At the moment, Vintner's Daughter and ML Youth Dew.
Moisturizer - Dr. Jart Ceramidin Cream
Balm - ML Blue Cocoon, and also recently obsessed with Marble & Milkweed Cardamom Butter
Mask - ML Problem Solver and PTR Rose Stem Cell.
Shampoo - Living Proof (I actually can go longer between washes using this!)
Conditioner - Neutrogena Triple Moisture Daily Deep Conditioner. This may actually be my coarse/dry hair HG, I have been straying and going back to it for over a decade.
Hair mask - Pureology Strength Cure and Olaplex 3 (good even if you don't color your hair!) Honorable mention to argan oil.
Hair styling product - Davines OiMilk.
Haha! No worries, @fairlywell . I enjoy reading it all nevertheless. But... now you have to do it again! ( I am kidding, of course. 😉 )
Ohhh, so ML BC has advanced to a HG status! Nice! Glad it worked out so nicely for you after all, @fairlywell !
