Merit blush

Has anyone here ever tried the merit blush? If so what is your favorite color?

Re: Merit blush

@preppygurl17  I have 2 shades: MERIT Flush Balm Cream Blush Archival  and Le BonBon. On my medium-deep skin tone, Archival is very subtle even if I build it up. That’s fine with me because I use that shade near my temples, where I have large patches of hyperpigmentation. It warms up those patches and mutes the discoloration. Le BonBon’s a bit more pigmented on me. I can easily sheer it out if I want, but I usually build it up. I use that one on my cheeks and it stays in place all day.

For me, the trick to getting Merit blushes to last for hours without fading is to build them up on my skin, gently buff til I’ve got the blush cheek shape/placement I want, and then blend out just the edges. This leaves a good amount of color elsewhere, without going overboard. I like to use a synthetic or goat hair powder brush with these blushes; something with a good amount of splay. I find that a dense cheek brush, even something like my beloved SEPHORA COLLECTION PRO Blush Brush #99 , will buff/blend a Merit blush right off my cheek. 😅 If I was using a Sephora Pro brush with these blushes, I’d try one of the powder brushes instead. I don’t use beauty sponges so I can’t speak to that method. I have used my fingers and that also works well; it’s just faster for me to apply these with a brush.

It’s hard to go overboard (give yourself Pikachu cheeks) with these blushes in general. They’re formulated to give a very soft wash/flush of color. If you want a bolder blush, this is not the formula for you. But if you like a soft natural flush, it’s worth trying.

Re: Merit blush

@preppygurl17 I've tried them and while they're pretty, they definitely aren't my favorite formula.  They're quite sheer--which is fine, I don't mind a sheer blush--but they fade SO quickly.  I ended up decluttering mine because they would only last a couple of hours before somehow almost completely fading from my cheeks and compared to all of my other blushes that perform so much better, I found that I never reached for my Merit blush.

Re: Merit blush

that is very helpful, thank you!

Re: Merit blush

@preppygurl17 Sephora employee here

I have tried and tested the Merit blush on clients. My favorite shades are Beverly Hills, Fox, and Rouge.

Re: Merit blush

Thanks! I will defiantly try one of those colors in the store!
