Healthy & Clean Skincare Review

Spoiler
“What is the hype”

“What is the hype over clean skincare?” this is a big question and it’s hard for some to understand the reasoning. I totally get it, you might be fortunate to not have intrusive flare ups (by this I mean, out of control outbreaks.)

Let’s talk about it! Why is it such a big deal in the first place? Combination skin types & oily/acne prone skin, these alone are exactly why it’s such a big deal. For anyone else who struggled as a teenager will remember in the mid 2000s those god awful Oxy cleansers or other retail products that weren’t dermatologist grade. Sadly, they were booked so far out you had to be on the wait list, for months or even over a year. Ouch does no justice, seriously it was one of the worst things you could deal with and the worst products to use on sensitive skin. They really did not have a big variety to accommodate us through puberty or peak young adulthood, and home remedies were hard to come by that worked. Fast forward to the present day, thank friggin’ god, the beauty industry has adopted advanced studies to fix this struggle. Clean skincare products have become the holy grail to my daily routine, the flare up’s are finally gone. This extends to my haircare routine, I have a sensitive scalp + oily hair, and full body wash. It sounds ridiculous and beyond extensive but it’s vital for some of us to maintain these imbalances.

Here is a list of some of my favourite products that may benefit you or a loved one:

1. Olehenriksen (oil control toner + truth serum)

2. Innisfree (hydration w/ green tea)

3. Olla Botanicals (black rice + ginseng scrub)

4. Olla Botanicals (citrus foaming milk cleanser)

5. Olla Botanicals (detoxifying clay mask)

6. Pharmacy (ultra lightweight moisturizer)

7. Drunk Elephant (eye brightening serum)

Haircare items:

• Olaplex: N.3 + N.8 + N.4 (and Clarifying N.4) + N.5 + N.7

Some of these items aren’t available through Sephora, but I swear by them! They work so so fantastic!

Comment below your experience growing up and how things are going presently, I’d love to hear your thoughts about clean skincare lines.

Re: Healthy & Clean Skincare Review

I have combo skin and growing up, my acne really bothered me. It wasn’t deemed bad enough for prescription medications so I struggled so badly to find a cleanser and regimen that worked for me. Add in birth control and my acne got worse. I just recently fell into the world of clean beauty and skin but I would never go back. I am feeling so much better about my appearance and my skin has totally transformed

Re: Healthy & Clean Skincare Review

The worst part about the struggle is that there is zero answers provided to the explanations they give. Like, they tell you every single reason why it’s happening, but they don’t give you tools to fix it.

How long have you been using your new regimen? After time it starts to heal scarred tissue and maintain balance!
