The Ordinary serums /Clean beauty

Does anyone have any idea why The Ordinary serums aren't considered clean?

@DamieAdewumi  Clean isn't a standardized designation in the beauty industry so you're best bet is to decide first what you consider clean beauty and then do your research unfortunately.

The Ordinary serums /Clean beauty

I just ordered three of their products so I'd like to know as well. They seem like a very thorough company and I had a lot of confidence ordering from them. #followingthisthread

Hi @DamieAdewumi!

I think for a product to be considered clean by Sephora, it has to be free of 50 or more questionable ingredients like mineral oils, sulfates, parabens, etc.

It's really confusing to me too, since I saw that Farmacy Honey Drop Lightweight Moisturizer 1.7 oz/ 50 mL , which Sephora considers "clean" has c13-15 alkane (4th ingredient on their list), which tested in the moderate range for causing cancer according to EWG.

According to the EWG website the ordinary products are mostly clean
