Cream or Liquid Highlighter

How would a liquid highlighter compare to a cream highlighter? Are they basically the same thing?

Re: Cream or Liquid Highlighter

@missaa8, different feels and finishes, much like foundation or blushes.  A liquid highlighter can be mixed into other products for different intensity. A cream can be a bit more subdued and built up.  Also, preference and skin type can factor into why you may select one over the other, for example someone with drier skin might prefer liquids.  Someone with dry/combo or oily combo might prefer a cream.

Re: Cream or Liquid Highlighter

@danielledanielle do you know of a good liquid highlighter? Can I just break off a piece of my fenty highlighter and add it to a moisturizer or something?

Re: Cream or Liquid Highlighter

@missaa8 You could, but it might not hold or stay.  Mixing mediums like MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Seal 0.4 oz/ 11 g  , Mehron ,  the nye one, Mac, duraline, etc can help make it into a liquid.  You could even try mixing a concealer with a highlighter, but they hold or effect might be different than you intended.

Re: Cream or Liquid Highlighter

@danielledanielle Thank you! I might have to start experimenting with different mediums. I currently have Urban Decay Mini Original Eyeshadow Primer Potion 0.16 oz / 5 mL   ,  Urban Decay Mini Anti-Aging Eyeshadow Primer Potion Mini Size - 0.16 oz/ 5 mL  , a gel MAC primer, a bareMinerals setting spray, and a Hard Candy setting spray. I could probably mix out more with the setting sprays, but is that safe to do?

Re: Cream or Liquid Highlighter

@missaa8 , I'd be leary about putting anything that's not marketed for eyes near my eyes.  You could use your primer and then wet a brush and go over it with a powdered highlighter and let that dry.

I agree, @danielledanielle! It's nice to have a community like this for sharing this type of information. Thank you for your expertise!
