Best blush brush in your opinion?

I have a few blush brushes and they all shed and apply blush splotchy. Looking for recommendations on great ones!

RE: Best blush brush in your opinion?

Hi @CantonOhio ! SEPHORA Collection just re-designed their entire collection! I am obsessed and have been with Sephora brushes for some time. Part of what I do is product testing and give feedback on what tools work the best! I love the versatility that one brush can give me. One of the best investments that you can make is with the Sephora Collection PRO Powder Brush #59- $34, can be used for blush, bronze, highlight and set! Tapered vegan bristles apply product beautifully from pan to face! And-if you already have that try the #93 PRO blush brush $30! Perfect to apply blush and contour! The great thing about doing your own makeup is that you can make any brush work for you regardless of the written name! ❤️

I really love the Tarte blushes they last all day, are buildable, have so many different colours and are not to expensive. Highly recommend.

@CantonOhio  The “best” is subjective and depends on your personal preferences, preferred blush coverage, and application technique. Sheer, buildable, or opaque coverage; brush head shape (flat paddle, pom pom, wedge, angled, etc.); tapping/“stamping” on blush and then blending it out, vs. starting with long sweeping motions, vs. buffing in small circles; natural hair vs. synthetic bristles; brush head size and density; all these variables come into play.

My favorite brush for powder blush is the Chikuhodo Z-4. It’s a Japanese handmade squirrel hair brush that’s incredibly soft. It’s just the right shape and density for the way I apply powder brush, and the brush head’s not too big for me. If well cared for, a Chikuhodo brush can last for decades. I baby the hell out of mine. It gets a true wash once or twice a month; between washings, I spray it with a brush cleaner. (As far as I’m concerned, spray-on brush cleaners are no substitute for a sudsy wash, but they do keep my brushes bacteria-free between washings.)

For cream blush, I often use a Chikuhodo PS-2. It’s made of goat hair, so it can handle creams. Its dense pom pom shape works well for the way I apply cream blushes, when I’m not using my fingers instead.
