Eyebrow gel

How do yโ€™all feel about eyebrow gel? Does it work well? Fade? Or just too expensive not worth the buy?

Re: Eyebrow gel

@GNNskinmakeup  Depends on how you want your brows to look, as well as the condition/behavior of your natural brows. Also, not all brow gels do the same things. Some are tinted, others are clear; some claim to laminate brow hairs, others are meant to fluff hairs up for a more natural look; etc.

I like my sparse brows to look fuller, but also as natural as possible. I donโ€™t need super strong hold since Iโ€™m not going for a laminated look. And since I like to spot-fill with a brow pencil, Iโ€™m not fond of tinted brow gels; I never feel I have enough control of where the color ends up or how dense/dark it looks. I just need a clear gel that fluffs up my brow hairs and provides moderate all-day hold (enough to keep a natural looking shape), without becoming a white flaky mess or irritating my rather reactive facial skin. And I must be able to easily apply brow pencil over the gel once it sets.

My current favorite brow combo is Ami Colรฉ Ultra-Flex Clear Eyebrow Shaping Gel Clear  and Kimiko Super Fine Eyebrow Pencil Automatique. People who want/need a different brow look might prefer a different gel. It meets my needs though, and I can do my brows in 5 minutes tops (including gel dry-down time)โ€”which is 2-3 minutes longer than it takes if I just use brow pencil (no gel), but adding gel gets me closer to the natural brow look I prefer for myself. Plus, using gel lets me use far less pencil than I used to, so my pencil lasts longer.

Re: Eyebrow gel

I use actual gel for my eyebrows. got2b gel to be specific. In Europe, they sell that gel in a mascara tube/wand, but you can just buy the gel here and apply it with a spoolie. I use a spoolie to brush the gel into my brows (forward and back), and then press them down with a flat metal applicator (you can buy a dual ended spoolie from elf). They really stay in place for me. I keep them "fluffy" but some people can get a laminated look using gel.

I also tint my eyebrows (at home), so that helps them look fuller).

Good luck!!

@AnimalBrain  FYI, weโ€™re not allowed to post links to non-Sephora sites. You might wanna remove that link before a mod/admin sees it. Instead, you could just name the e.l.f. product you linked to, so folks can search for it themselves. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks! Fixed.

Re: Eyebrow gel

@GNNskinmakeup I love brow gel.  My brows are pretty dang close to what I'd like them to look like shape wise so I like having a tinted gel to gently make them look a little fuller.  I used to use a pencil or powder for my brows but a tinted gel is a one and done option for me.
