Around Christmas, I remember discussing the past holiday special design packaging that Sephora used to make each year. I remember when they did free gift wrapping for several years, and had holiday designs for boxes, bags and cute little plastic envelopes/tubes. I still have a bunch from past years since they were so festive, and of high quality so we just fold them up and reuse them year after year!
I know someone mentioned it, and I kept thinking we should have a thread to catalog and document some of the Sephora items I come across from time to time. Then, finding a brochure from maybe around 2002 (pictured below) has spurred me into action today. I remember feeling so amazed and instantly in love with Sephora because of all the testers. I still have PTSD as a kid/teen of wanting to play with the department store testers and
I am a bit of a pack rat, and I come across things that either I still can’t part with, or things that I actually want to declutter but will feel better if I can archive a photo somewhere, haha! I’m thinking of the following kinds of items, but feel free to post additional items or memories connected with Sephora that you want to share with us at BIC!
Hopefully I’m not the only one who has these random things lying around, but if so, feel free to laugh at me and my treasures!
Anyway, below is the brochure I found today! Isn’t it great? It mentions 74 stores, and it was folded up along with a product promo brochure and an online order form from 2002 when I lived in Vail. I totally forgot they ever sold Chanel! I also see Sue Devitt, Bourgois, Tony & Tina, Bliss, and DDF that used to be sold at Sephora (US anyway) but are no longer (unless I’m mistaken).
I remember feeling so amazed and instantly in love with Sephora because of all the testers available. I still have PTSD as a kid/teen of wanting to play with the department store testers and the sales ladies being so mean (we thought anyway!) I also remember such profound hope and disappointment at purchasing drugstore makeup with no testers available! It’s neat that it’s listed here in the Play, touch, smell, try. I also think it’s pretty funny they did an acronym (I think, is that what it is?)
NOTE: Sorry that BIC ruins the resolution on photos, but if you click on them, you can see more detail and text. I’ll try to repost pics from another device at a larger size some time, but right now BIC is preventing me from posting from the iPad!

I really miss those boxes @sister13 . I unfortunately got rid of mine when I moved.
Aww, I totally understand! We’ve been re-using these for years! @CorgiMommy
I love how artsy and decorative this box is! This so cool and awesome that you kept it too! I feel like it would be great for so many things 🤩 @sister13
There were several bags and boxes, and then these plastic pouches that folded flat were pretty cool. I think I posted some back at the beginning of the thread. I think they did this a couple years in a row, so there were slightly different designs. Such a nice touch, I wish they did that again, but I'm sure it's expensive. @peculiarzmakeup
That’s very cool! It’s fun to see the evolution of things and so nice to still have them in your collection! ❤️ i bet! @sister13
I love this blast from the past @sister13! And I love those boxes❣️ I would use them to hold different beauty products from my collection and then, my collection grew ... A LOT and I didn't have enough boxes to keep up. 🤣
This gives me a chuckle, I unearthed this earlier this spring, and just came across it, again..
There's a date on the front, but I'm not including that 😂
I can't believe I never opened it, there was a coupon in there 😭😭
Gorgeous photo of you this is so fun! What a fun item to have with you! @danielledanielle Aw bummer about the coupon. This is so neat ❤️
Omg this is amazing! Your custom magazine cover! @danielledanielle
@danielledanielle is the coupon still good ? 😂
It expired...a decade ago 😶 @CorgiMommy
I figured that @danielledanielle
This adorable knit tote is available in participating stores, free with $50 purchase. The $50 minimum spend is $50 after applying any sale discount and valid thru 11/11.2024 or until supplies last, whichever comes first. You can check online at Sephora to see which stores are participating. You may want to call the store ahead of time to see if they have totes available.
No recall when I got this. I'm going to guess early 2010s, because that's when shiny things were in
Ooh, nice!
@danielledanielle
@danielledanielle Love this! 💖
@danielledanielle I got one of those also but I haven't seen it in years. Shiny was definitely in about 10+ years ago
My good friend gave me this bag yesterday. She found it while thrifting. If anyone knows the history of this bag, please share!! I am thinking it was made before Kat Von D sold her line because it is now caller KVD Beauty.
I'm soooo happy I saw this @Mellmars1185 how fun is that! What a find. 🤍🖤 I hope you get too hear it's story. Soooo cool!
