Rare Beauty Highlighters

Can anyone suggest a Rare Beauty highlighter for wearing everyday? Powder or Liquid is fine. Thank you 😊

When it comes to liquid or powder I think it's a personal preference decision @missaa8. What are you more comfortable wearing?

I looove the powder compacts from Rare Beauty. But I do prefer blending out my highlight from a powder vs a liquid, but that's just me 🤗

I have Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter Exhilarate  and Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter Mesmerize  , they both work for everyday IMO.  I love to blend them under my blush or foundation for a more subtle look or lightly on top, I don't mind a glow 😉

Re: Rare Beauty Highlighters

@CynthieLu I enjoy buildable textures 😎 that are eyelid approved 🤓

Re: Rare Beauty Highlighters

Eyelid approved? Ooh that's a toughie. @missaa8

Have you heard of Danessa Myricks Beauty Twin Flames Liquid Eyeshadow  ?

I've seen videos on Danessa's IG where she uses the lighter opalescent shades as highlighters, for under painting highlighters and as eyeshadow 😉 her video from this past Teach Me Tuesday had it on one of the models, for a high light on the upper cheeks, but I can't remember if it was the first or second...😅

Re: Rare Beauty Highlighters

@CynthieLu I haven't but they look lovely ️ i appreciate the suggestion 💖

Re: Rare Beauty Highlighters

@CynthieLu @missaa8 I do actually wear the Rare Beauty for the eye...the gold one not only looks beautiful on the lid, but I actually use it as my go-to inner eye corner highlight.  Pop that on the upper cheek, slightly down the nose and on the cupids bow and you become a little glowing angel!

You couldnt have made a better recommendation!

Re: Rare Beauty Highlighters

Love to envision it, @ShayeZee! Since I'm going through a primer phase right now, do you recommend using with or without a base layer (specifically around the eyes)?

Re: Rare Beauty Highlighters

Sorry, I should have clarified...i DO use primer for the eyes. Primer to me is used for a reason ...I have normal skin, so I dont use under foundation. For someone super oily, they might need an oil reducing primer. super large pores, a pore limiting primer or pore filler...for acne scars, a primer that evens skin texture.  If you dont have any specific concerns or issues, there is no need to prime.  Because then you are left with the only reason being to get foundation to stick on the face....which I have never heard as being an issue?  : )

for the eyes tho....I think unless you only intend to wear the eyeshadow for a few hours, its needed because even if you arent an oily person, the lids will get some oils under shadow, eventually. ...and it is a constant crease...primer also helps to blend better...and in some cases to make the colour more vibrant -  numerous reasons why you would need for the eyes.

I use Anatasia right now...it has a light colour base and I have been playing with more vibrant colours for summer.  But Nars is good...as is Mac paint pot (in ochre).  I think those are the top 3 MUA's use.

If you dont want to spend your money though...you can always use concealer..just make sure you let it dry then use a setting powder on top. It works just as well in a pinch!

Re: Rare Beauty Highlighters

just watched the stila vid - interesting.  I dont need a lot of colour correcting, but its a good product for a friend of mine...

Re: Rare Beauty Highlighters

Love Stila ❤️ she's nifty to keep around, but only if you intend on applying the entire palette 🎨
