Went to the Mac inside The Bay (Canada), lineup was about 20 people deep and they were letting people swatch and pick their shade.  I waited about 10-15 minutes and ended up with the shade Hug Me.  The rest of the shades they had were greys, blues, very deep purples almost black.  I also was there 5 minutes after the store opened so they didn't have the best selection but no complaints, it was free! I walked by the stand-alone Mac afterwards and it was much busier.  I walked in the store to see the shade selection, it was similar to The Bays with more neutrals.  It seemed like they were letting people pick shades their too but I'm not 100%.  Hope everyone else got some nice lipsticks!

Also if you were unable to get to the mall I think you should just save the trip and not go since their won't be much left, if any at all.  Unless you are into dark blues, greys etc.

Happy National Lipstick Day!

We had great success at our MAC store this morning - My daughter and I arrived around 8:15 a.m. for the 10:00 opening and the line was already about 20 people deep.  I have to give props to the store manager - she did a great job controlling the line and she handed out wristbands so that no one could sneak into the store and jump the line once they opened (we saw several ladies try!) and so people at the end of the line wouldn't waste their time waiting and then not get a lipstick.  She also only let 6 people in at a time to control the chaos, which was good, but it was like 200 degrees outside in the sun so we were dying to get into the AC...

We were allowed to choose from a pretty wide variety of colors - Some (Mehr and Velvet Teddy) were even from the permanent line.

Re- free lipstick I stopped by the mall this morning [Canada] and the freestanding MAC store had a huge line up already [store had opened 20 minutes earlier] The MAC counter in The Bay was handing lipsticks out too. Line was much shorter [about 5 people instead of 50+]. We were able to choose our lipstick at the counter. But they only had 4 shades left since they had handed out so many. [Flatter Me Fierce-City Slicker-Blue Bang?-Secret #?]

So about the free lipstick...I stopped by a counter inside macys and asked about it. It is from the color rocker collection. However...the associate said they were just handing them out with no selection or choice of colors. A little disappointed since their are some pretty unusual colors in the collection that I'm pretty sure I wouldn't wear.

Thanks for the heads up! I'm not one for non-traditional lipstick colors, so this may save me a trip to the mall tomorrow. I don't want to hog a lipstick I won't use at the expense of someone else missing out on a chance to get a freebie they may love!

Yea true. I ended up buying 2 mini lipsticks while talking about the free lipstick lol. I wont feel too bad if I miss out tomorrow, I have plans for the morning and will probably miss all the stores. I have a feeling it will be crazy at any Mac tomorrow and these will go super early on

These new palettes look nice, but I hope my store starts to carry things like this so I can swatch them first. I am VERY excited that Mac is being sold at Ulta now, I hope one day it can be at Sephora too....
