MAC x Lisa Frank?????

I got the blush in Lotus Blossom and when I received it, I thought holy crap this is tiny. Just a tad bit of buyer's remorse here.. It was WAY over hyped and over priced. I got excited I had gotten through to the website to purchase it, only to realize later that it would still be available now. Bummer. I do like the packaging, it is stunning. But knowing what I know now, I am not sure I would do that again.

I'm kind of surprised the collection is still up! Do you think the prices were too high? What about all this hype over how exclusive and limited it was going to be? Maybe with the high prices people needed to see it/feel it to buy. Or is it just too much to ask for MAC loyalists..I am used to the high prices because I buy a lot of Dior, TF, etc. but a lot of MAC fans might not be comfortable with that price range..

For me, they were too high for product that wasn't as impressive as it should be for the price. I'm in LOVE with the packaging, but I can't justify the price for a sheer lipstick or a powder that costs more than a Chanel LE powder. If the powder was around the 50-60 mark CDN I would be fine with it, but at 84, it's not happening. And I already own 2 shadows in the quads, so that makes it less desirable for me.

But that's me. I know people who are huge MAC fans can justify it, and to each their own. I wouldn't be content with a purchase, but they will.

I broke and did get the powder....but...

I like mac. But not at this price point.  I'm still second guessing it.

I got Morning light, the Moonlight powder, and the lip glasses...and the brushes and one blush! Whew, that was it 🙂

I managed to stay strong and only got what I had been planning on-the beauty powder.  I've heard from pale ladies that it makes a very nice finishing powder for those who are in the NW/NC 15-10 range, so I'm hopeful about that.  I really only wanted one thing for the lovely packaging and this was the only item that appealed to me.  If I had even remotely liked any of the lip colors or eye shadows I probably wouldn't have had much resistance, so I'm lucky that they are all awful colors for me.  😄

I went on MAC intending just to browse... and ended up getting side tracked & buying "blankety."  Oops.

I tried so hard to resist & lost it when I logged on this morning, (hoping it was SOLD OUT) & everything was still in stock. I had a gift card with about $17 on it, so that helped me justify the $40 blush, since the $17 is essentially like a discount or free money. 😛  & I ended up with the Lotus Blossom blush. I was sooo close!! I just wanted to have something from the collection, the packaging is so beautiful.

The colors in this collection were so not for me so I only got the 2 brushes. This entire collection was really just all about the packaging as with most MAC collections.

Enabler!  I want to get some MUG duochrome pigments and the palette costs almost as much as the entire collection. I can't!  I shan't!

MUG duochromes are perm right? This collection isn't 😉  Just saying.  I know I'm the type that would be pissed if I didn't get at least one thing... BUT I am a collector so... must buy the pretties!!! 🙂

I got the MUG if that makes you feel better...some duochrome pigments and some duochrome eye shadows.  Instead of this collection.  But I'm having a tough time resisting this collection too!  I just hope it sells out fast!!!
