La Prairie Thread

I have stopped using all other foundations after discovering the amazing La Prairie Skin Caviar Foundation and Concealer (the original one). Looks gorgeous and flawless on skin, without heavy look or feel. I also love the La Prairie Skin Caviar Essence Cushion Foundation for lighter makeup days, which evens out the skintone but looks like I am not wearing any foundation! Anybody else crazy about the La Prairie foundations?

Re: La Prairie Thread

@ms123456, I do!  I currently use the cellular treatment setting powder and the brightening eye treatment. I love the setting powder!  I am a medium skin tone and use it in the shade Translucent 0.  I tend toward oily and it keeps my foundation set all day!  The brightening eye treatment is great for dark circles but it isn't a full coverage concealer.   I use it prior to foundation, and then use the foundation under my eyes, but not an additional concealer.   I usually bake a little bit under there with the cellular loose powder before I set the rest of my face.  I currently use La Mer and Koh Gen Do foundations, and am trying Chanel.  I actually haven't used a La Prairie foundation.  I also haven't tried any La Prairie skin care.  I'm glad you love the foundations! If you decide to try other La Prairie products, let us know what you think!!

Re: La Prairie Thread

@curlychiquita Thank you so much! So helpful. I am going to try this La Prairie Powder in 0. I am liking the La Prairie foundation so far. With the La Prairie original Foundation (with built-in Concealer), I wear Honey Beige or Warm Beige and apply with a brush. Works great with Hourglass Primer or Tatcha Silk Primer. I prefer Cle de Peau stick concealer in Beige for under-eye and Almond for spots, and Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Powder in 01 (Laura Mercier Translucent Powder to control more oil in tzone if needed). I am going to try the La Prairie Powder per your recommendation and I am also interested in the eye brightner! Neiman counter is very good with shade matching. BeautyProfessor website is somewhat helpful. Since you like La Mer and Koh Gen Do, you may like this one too. Thanks so much for your helpful feedback!

Re: La Prairie Thread

@ms123456 I also love Cle de Peau concealers and have them in both colors you mentioned.  Have you tried Sisley? They make great products as well

Re: La Prairie Thread

@SportyGirly125 Thank you! Oh we have the exact same shades in Cle de Peau concealers! Those are my holy grails 😃. I have not tried Sisley. I am open to your recommendations. I also like By Terry. I think all of us here love Tom Ford & Charlotte Tilbury! 😍

Re: La Prairie Thread

@ms123456 I love these two products and use them daily 59A3A743-DDEA-4611-962B-4B43606B1CDE.png

Re: La Prairie Thread

@ms123456 Sorry- I have very little experience with the brand. I tried a sample years and years ago and the fragrance was a no-go for me too. Wish I could be more helpful! If nobody here has any feedback, it’s worth checking MakeupAlley and the SkincareAddiction reddit.

ETA: Sorry, just read the rest of the thread and it looks like you’re getting some good info and having fun playing with the brand. I only tried a skincare sample, but their makeup does look beautiful. I am a Koh Gen Do foundation lover, but I do try to branch out and try other brands for makeup. I’m glad you started this thread!

Re: La Prairie Thread

@rose41 Thank you! I may have to try Koh Gen Do now. Hearing good things about that.

Re: La Prairie Thread

@ms123456, i don't think i have much experience with this brand.  I remember trying something (maybe night cream) from the brand with a tiny deluxe sample.  While the product is very nice, the perfume is a bit strong for me and i normally don't have issue with scent and therefore i did not look into more of their products!!!

Re: La Prairie Thread

@blackkitty2014 Thank you!

Re: La Prairie Thread

@ms123456 Sorry I don't think I have ever tried that brand.

@SportyGirly125 Thank you!
