What’s in a Name?

I was at the pet store today and spotted this and picked it up immediately. Of course it came home with me. I was thinking, I have been sprocketta since 1997. My childhood nickname was Stacely Sprockets. My name is Stacy. The boss on the Jetsons is Spacely Sprockets. In 1997 when aol started messenger and chat rooms, I needed a user name. I became sprocketta. Always lowercase. So what’s in your name? Your childhood nickname, your BIC name, a nickname you have now. Share the story. I know there was a thread on usernames at one point but I’m starting fresh with more than just your BIC name, though I’d love to know that story.

“Mush” or “Mushy Mush”…

Early on, when my boyfriend and I first started dating, I gave him a warning. I let him know I love all things mushy; cards, notes, rom coms, romance in general. Being silly, he called me a “mush”

Ever since then, the nickname “mush” stuck. We both call eachother mush, mushy, etc. Getting a “good morning mush!❤️“ text is enough to make my heart melt.

A funny word really, but as the months go by I love the nickname more and more.

What a fun thread! I'll give some background on my BIC name: QueenMarceline. My name happens to really be, Marcy 🤣 so I can see how to some unaware of the cartoon/show Adventure Time might assume it was a fun play-on-words or that I think I'm a queen lol. However, Marceline the Vampire Queen is a prominent character on the show Adventure Time. During the height of the show, about 10-or-more years ago my group of friends started comparing me to the character and calling me Marceline the Vampire Queen. Which makes sense, not only do we actually share the same name, I love bats (seriously, I think bats are the cutest thing ever. I call them sky puppies lol) and all things sp00ky. Overtime, that got shortened to Queen Marceline and when it came time to make my BIC name I went with that because I thought it was super cool and catchy. It's a bit embarrassing now, but hey--gotta be true to your weird roots. 😛

So my family used to call me Lonni as a nickname growing up or Lonna Madonna 

L master came into play when I was 18 and working with the teenagers at office Depot 🤣 the rapper master P had a song out that was super popular at that time and the girls literally starting calling me L master and it stuck, funny thing my husband is called Bowmaster 🤣 🏹

@lmaster Just here to say the photo of these fuzzy babies made my entire night ❤️ Ugh. Too cute! My grandparents have chickens in Poland and as a kid I used to go visit and "adopt" all the babies. I'd carry them around with me wherever I went and this was when camera for home movies started to become more prevalent so I would steal my moms Canon or Nikon (can't remember what it was) and made a reality show of the chickens lives. My parents still whip out those videos at family functions from time to time, much to my embarrassment considering the reality show had it's own opening credit song, composed, written and sung by none other than 7-year-old me. 🤣

I actually have 2 usernames on BIC. One of them is SportyGirly my first username I started with. Long story short, something happened to my account on BT where it didn’t synch with my BI card and I had to create a new username for my account. I guess I should have asked a MOD to fix it but didn’t. Whenever someone tags me with my old user  name I still get alerted. Anyways, since that was taken I added numbers to my original username which is my bday. 

The name sportygirly is how I dress. I grew up with an older brother and was in sports since

elementary school. I wasn’t really into dresses and heels when I was in junior high and high school.  I dressed more like a tom boy but would throw in girly elements. For example, some athletic pants with a cute top and hair accessories with sneakers.

@SportyGirly125 love the story behind your username 💕 I don't wear heels either, and I love sweatpants. I agree, a sporty outfit with some girly accessories (I like earrings, for example) is a nice way to dress imo. Casual but feminine 😊

@WinglessOne I always had a curiosity about your username. I know that you don't wear wigs, your hair is natural. So, is your username misspelled? because wigless one means the one without a wig, like you. But wingless one means that you don't have wings (??). I know that you real name has to do with birds so now I'm curious to know 🤣
