What are your New Year’s Resolutions for 2026? It could be spending less money, traveling, working out more, career goals, stepping outside your comfort zone, etc.
I am trying to re study my Pilates manual, learn more about skincare, practice calligraphy/craft more, and travel with the family this year.
I already cleaned and organized all the rooms in my house. As well as gone through all my makeup and skincare so I could start fresh for the new year. All liners have been sharpened and ready to go.
@SportyGirly125 I love your resolutions, and the way you are starting fresh for the new year!
I have a lot of different goals for this year across different categories, but here are some of my main ones:
- lose weight, exercise more often and get in better shape 💪
- read more books (at least one or two per month) 📚
- visit my grandmother, and visit my friend + her family 💞
- finish paying off debt, and stick to a monthly budget 💸
- move out of my parents' house 🏠
- spend more time on hobbies + creative projects - try bookbinding + bullet journaling 📔
@caitbird I may need to borrow your goal of visiting family more often! I feel like since the pandemic I've been lax in that!
These are all wonderful, @caitbird ! I started working out last year after a *ahem* year hiatus. I'm really enjoying it. I got rid of all my crafting supplies except crochet. I want to start spending more time with this fave hobby. Best wishes on your goals! 😘
I don't typically make resolutions. Seeing what @SportyGirly125 and @greeneyedgirl107 wrote, I might as well join in. Since around Thanksgiving, I've been deep cleaning my condo, going room by room. I finished the kitchen, laundry room, entry and entry closet. Now I'm working on the absolute worst room: many years ago, my junk drawer threw up in my craft/computer room. So far, I've taken a car trunk, back seat, and floor full of items to Goodwill, a trunk full of electronics to a local computer business for recycling/destruction, set out a full trash bin and full recycle bin, moved all my yarn to another room to go through after I finish the remainder of the room, and moved paperwork to another room to review for "keep/scan" or "shred/recycle." After this room, I have two more rooms and their associated closets plus the bathrooms, one of which is mine with all its cosmetics, skincare, and hair products.
Oh, I've also recycles all my paperback college textbooks and cut out all the pages from the hardback textbooks. This removed 10 or 12 boxes from my garage. I also gave my collection of Nancy Drew books to a work colleague for his daughter. That was another two boxes. Then I found another box of books that belonged to my mom. I gave that back to her. Here's a laugh: she gave the box back to me yesterday filled with a book series she planned to get rid of. I said I would take the books so I could re-read them. 😅 Add the garage to the list of rooms to finish going through.
In addition, is my annual resolution to drink more water due to passing a kidney stone a year ago. I have another kidney stone in the other kidney I didn't pass that I'd rather not. 😆
@Titian06 That sounds like so much work... but once you've finished your last room I bet you feel so much lighter!
@Titian06 Great New Year’s resolution. It feels so good to clean and go room by room.
@SportyGirly125 - It's such motivation to go on after I successfully clean a room. 💕
Get back to doing my physical therapy, clean my house more regularly.
I love new years resolutions the last few years since I swapped the idea that it needed to be something so serious. In the past I've done "try as many ice cream flavours as possible" and "try as many pasta shapes as I can" for example. This years resolutions are a bit more boring... but this year I'm hoping to see how many different beaches I can hit up. I tend to go to the same two or three all summer long and I think I'd like to diversify my beach portfolio. I know summer this year will be a lot of sticking close to home when I'm not away for work and with the number of beaches in my area I should be able to have fun with this one! I already put together my 'beach go bag' to leave ready at a moments notice!
@missjeanie that's such a fun resolution, I bet you will have a great time visiting different beaches! I like your approach of having it be something fun and not so serious.
@caitbird Changing the way I look at them fully changed the joy I get from them!
