Ski-Friendly Makeup Tips

I will be going on my first ski trip soon, and Iโ€™m trying to plan our what sort of makeup to wear on the slopes. I live in Texas so my current beauty routine is not gonna be friendly for the cold and dry air at the top of the mountains. Any suggestions? Iโ€™ve looked a little into tinted moisturizers, but Iโ€™m so fair that theyโ€™re all too dark.

Ski-Friendly Makeup Tips

@kseitz21, I agree with the others but want to also add make sure your lip balm has SPF and reapply often too. In my pockets, I always had deluxe sample or travel sized sunscreen, face cream, hand cream, and lip balm. Have fun on your trip!

Re: Ski-Friendly Makeup Tips

@kseitz21 I absolutely agree with what @skcfan said. Moisturizer and sunscreen+goggles are a must when in the snow since more sunlight gets reflected off of the snow and onto you. A good occlusive like Aquaphor or Vaseline are commonly used for dry lips and skin. I also wrap something like a scarf over my face below my eyes to prevent windburn.

Makeup-wise, if you really need to apply a base, mix a bit of your foundation with your moisturizer. Andy maybe mascara. You can also wear a tinted lip balm or lipstick and layer Aquaphor/Vaseline over it to protect the lips.

I don't apply makeup at all when in the snow since the goggles, scarf/bandana, and my runny nose would end up wiping everything off.

Re: Ski-Friendly Makeup Tips

@kseitz21 I donโ€™t know that I would wear too much makeup while skiing. Your goggles cover most of your face anyways.

Instead I would focus on a good skincare routine. A very moisturizing lip balm is necessary; I use Vaseline. My lips always get chapped so I would keep it in your coat so you can reapply often.

Also, donโ€™t forget to wear a good high spf sunscreen. And reapply often. Itโ€™s very easy to get a bad sunburn on the slopes, and I think a lot of people forget to reapply sunscreen as often when itโ€™s cold out.

Have fun!
