Non shimmery highlighter

Recommendations for non glittery/shimmery highlighters for dark skin black skin tone

Re: Non shimmery highlighter

@k2me

DIOR Forever Glow Maximizer Longwear Liquid Highlighter in any shade except pearly  (nothing wrong with pearly, just has more glitter particles that are discernable)

DIOR Forever Glow Star Filter Multi-Use Complexion Enhancing Booster

The luminizers have shimmer, but it's pretty fine so that it's more luminous in quality than sparkly  IMO.  The star filter is great under makeup, gives the "lit from within" effect, but you could also apply on top of foundation.

tarte maracuja juicy glow cream highlighter stick probably the most subtle highlight I have, really gives a soft glow and it's a small point, so it's great on other areas like brow bow and cupids bow.

Ami Colé Light-Catching Highlighter Balm Glaze , this is a dewy finish

Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Demi'Glow Light-Diffusing Highlighter , the deeper shades to me aren't sparkly and if you apply it with a tapered brush vs something compact, it's a very subtle shimmer

Re: Non shimmery highlighter

@k2me  If you have a local Sephora store, try swatching LYS Beauty Aim High Cream Highlighter Stick . LYS makes 3 different highlighter products (a stick, a powder, and a liquid) and the sticks are the least glittery/sparkly. You might also like Danessa Myricks Beauty Illuminating Veil Liquid Highlighter : I have a few shades of this one and they’re potent, but not glitterbombs.

If you wanted a subtle highlight and NARS hadn’t apparently discontinued their NARS Highlighting Powder , I’d definitely recommend one of those shades as an option. I wonder if NARS is reformulating their highlighter, since they recently did that to their powder bronzer and powder blush.

Bookmarking this so I can go through my highlighters later and maybe find more recommendations.

EDIT: forgot to talk about the Hourglass Strobe powders. Those are Hourglass’s official highlighters, but some are quite sparkly and probably not what you want. They also have a range of regular Ambient Lighting finishing powders, many of which are too light to work well on a deep skin tone—but a few might work as highlighters. I recommend swatching testers instead of blind-buying one, if you wanna go this route. Note that the non-Strobe powders are meant to give a softly lit finish, not a strong highlight glow.

Re: Non shimmery highlighter

I’ve heard things about the Hourglass Ambient® Lighting Finishing Powder  being a good highlighter for dark skin. Not sure how shimmery is. Hope this helps 🙂
