Light makeup person

I feel daily makeup is not good for the skin. That too if you are going on with lot of chemical based products then it will affect the skin after a point of time. Doing basic skin care and going with a light base and a very basic lip product is a good go-to if you someone prefers keeping things natural.

Re: Light makeup person

@Westcoasty Hey there! So to each their own. This was in context that sephora has number of such products and brands that are vegan and chemical free and thus one who likes to keep it light has numerous options here and it is personal if you like to always keep a layer of makeup on or like to keep it natural and light with makeup just for special occasion or for office visits. Not all the skins are the same and not all the products are harmful and not everyday is the same so you choose what floats your boat. And due to this reason, I have a list of my fav sephora products that make life easy for people like me. 😉 cheers

Re: Light makeup person

@Somdeva   That's totally fair, and good for you. I'm not sure that came across in your original post, however. 🙂

I'd love to hear some of your product recommendations. At my age, I'm always looking for products that look soft and natural on my face. In particular, I only wear powder foundation (if at all) because liquid makes my face feel heavy and clogged - have you found a liquid base that doesn't do that?

Re: Light makeup person

@Somdeva  I respectfully disagree with some of your post. I too am a light makeup person, but I consider wearing a base to be "heavy" makeup for me, due to personal inclination. Nor do I think that daily makeup is necessarily bad for the skin. Honestly, my skin looks better when I wear makeup, for the simple reason that I will clean it morning and night. If I'm not wearing makeup, I tend to skip the nightly cleanse entirely.

Also, I read the ingredients on skincare products, so I'm not sure why you believe that makeup is worse than skincare with regard to the chemical load. I suggest that it's all about what you choose and how your skin responds to it. Honestly, if you want to avoid chemicals, you'd need to wash with nothing but distilled water, and moisturize with something like organic olive oil. That is indisputably a choice for some people, and I fully respect it. But my guess is that they're the outliers.

Plus, you know...keep in mind that people in the Sephora community tend to love product. ❤️  LOL

So...with this post, are you looking for others who agree with your stance, or hoping to start a discussion?
