Hair Help

Hi guys, i have a problem with my hair! I have a naturally really oily scalp but my ends are dry! Right now I currently use a shampoo that soaks up the oils so my hair isn't as oily. However though, it drys my ends even tough i use a moisturizing conditioner. Secondly, i don't wash my hair everyday because i heard it helps. because of that, my hair always relies on dry shampoo so i go through it like in 2 weeks. I just wasn't my hair long, healthy, and strong. Advise?

RE: Hair Help

My ends get super dry! My hair is straight and about chest length, and here are a couple things I do that I FEEL help; •condition my ends before I wash •shampoo my hair line and scalp- I let gravity do it’s thing rinsing shampoo down to my ends- I’ve been using IGK Smoke and Mirrors lately and really like it. It’s a cleansing oil that doesn’t strip my hair •conditioning rinse- lately IGK Expensive- I focus on the tips and length • conditioning balm on the ends- about three inches or so from the ends • since I try to wash my hair only once a week or so, clean brushes are really really important. Dirty linty brushes= oily hair- I brush my hair through about three times a day- pre, post shower and end of day before bed • regular haircuts- but I’m so bad at this one I left out some details to my routine because although my hair is fine and prone to breakage that may not be the case for you at all- so like, who cares what I do right? Your question was specifically in oily length and dry ends so hopefully some of these things will help. Oh! I don’t really know how to use dry shampoo without over doing it and looking like the living dead, so I just back away from that one when it beckons me

Re: Hair Help

Perhaps you could look into a hair oil to apply to your ends? Argan oil is great and I’m actually using an inexpensive oil right now by Fructis that is not too bad. I have really long hair and recently noticed my ends are very dry. I know I need a hair cut but in the meantime I’ve been using oils to help preserve my hair. I only wash my hair twice a week so also use dry shampoo often. After I’ve washed my hair I add the oil into my strands and then add a bit more in the following days to dry hair. As long as you’re not putting the oil all the way up to your roots it won’t cause issue with your scalp. 🙂

RE: Hair Help

It might help to use a better conditioner just on the ends of your hair. You could also try a hair mask or oil treatment but just on the ends where your hair is dried out. I have the same issue. I also use frizz serum on the ends of my hair when it dry. I hope this helps let me know.
