Foundation separation

I’ve been wearing makeup for a couple years now and no matter what I do, at the end of the day there’s patches missing from my face (mainly around my nose) and I use a really pricey primer too.

Re: Foundation separation

I used to think it was the products I was using and the order I did them in. But my face separated because I was touching my face subconsciously when I was thinking. I didn't notice until my best friend pointed it out to me!!!

Foundation separation

I had this problem and what worked for me was 1. After applying moisturizer, let a few good minutes pass before applying primer. 2. Clean your skin well. 3. Use setting powder after foundation. 4 Finish with setting spray. I use urban decay. This works for me 😊

Foundation separation

most likely this comes as the result of not having a proper skin care routine set up. You could be using the priciest makeup, but if your skin itself is not prepped properly it won't stay on as smoothly and flawlessly. If you explain what your skin type is like I'd be more than happy to suggest some skin care options !

RE: Foundation separation

Sometimes this happens to me as well, I find that if my skin is dehydrated it happens more often or if I used the wrong brush/sponge to apply. Also do you use a setting powder or spray? If not this should help it stay in place

Re: Foundation separation

Hi there!

You could be having this problem for a number of reasons.

1. Your skin should always be prepped ready for foundation. I recommend gentle exfoliation to remove dead skin, a good amount of moisturizer (allow this 10 mins to sink in before applying primer). Dry patches can

2. Primer should have the same base ingredients as your foundation (water based foundation calls for a water based primer, same for oil based primer/foundation and silicone based primer/foundation.

3. Next, it could be the application method. Always clean brushes and sponges regularly as build up could cause uneven application.

4. Oily skin care the nose can definitely cause foundation to move and slide, which explains patches. A tip for this is eyeshadow primer on the nose as it should hold the foundation longer

5. Power - your powder may not be doing the job, try different ones & touch ups may be necessary unfortunately

I hope this helps 🙂
