Estée Lauder double wear foundation

hello- can someone give me some good tips on the Estée Lauder double wear foundation?

I love this foundation, but I feel like it’s a bit heavy.

I have texture skin and large pores. Any recommendations on primer to use or tools like beauty blender vs a brush? Even a good moisturizer to use? Thanks for any tips I appreciate it

Hi, I’ve paired this with the elf poreless putty primer and it worked good together! Make sure to moisturize before primer.

I would recommend a lighter foundation if you feel that it’s too heavy. That foundation has so much coverage and it’s super matte. So that’s probably why it’s showing all your pores. Try the #narssofemattefoundation. That way you can still have a matte finish

Hello @Valerie75 ! This is my HG foundation that I’ve been using for almost a decade now. The best way to make this not too heavy or cakey for me is to use it with a clean, damp beauty blender. It sheets out a bit this way and doesn’t cake for me. I also use Tatcha The Liquid Silk Canvas: Featherweight Protective Primer 1.0 oz / 30 mL  on my nose to avoid any caking and to smooth out pores.

@Valerie75 I love this foundation as well!! I personally love wearing medium/full coverage foundations spread thin so it looks and wears more natural/light. I have combo skin, I use iNNBEAUTY PROJECT Slushy Serum Moisturizer Crush Infused with Bakuchiol  and sunscreen underneath and primer of choice for pores is HUDA BEAUTY Glowish Blur Jam Silicone Free Smoothing Primer  HANDS DOWN. this is something new I picked up recently and this works wonders for me with every foundation. You need the tiniest bit. Feels a little siliconey but well worth. I only use 1 pump of the double wear with beauty blender and spot conceal and undereye conceal with NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer with Medium Coverage . Powder lightly if you must but I do find double wear sets well without it. Hope that helps!

Hi @Valerie75! You can use you skincare for primer, especially if you find the foundation on the heavy side. More products might just end up feeling heavier. You can also try mixing some of your moisturizer into the foundation before applying. That might also help it feel a little lighter. If you’re looking for a recommendation, SEPHORA COLLECTION All Day Hyaluronic Acid Hydrator Moisturizer is light and friendly with most other skin types. 

In terms of tools, it’s mostly just preference. I use a cheap brush to apply and a blender to blend it all together, but either tool can be used on its own if you prefer.
