What exactly is a signature scent?

Everybody has a signature scent. If more than one person has this scent, is it still a signature scent? I love, love, love anything vanilla. Can a signature scent change. I suppose as your body chemistry  changes? I am not sure. So, what is your signature scent?

@HusbandsWifey  Sure, multiple people can have the same signature fragrance. Think of it as part of your overall aesthetic: that scent + the types of clothes you wear most often + your favorite shoes (or type of shoe/boot/etc.) + the kind(s) of jewelry you often wear, etc. A friend and I both love KILIAN Paris Apple Brandy Eau de Parfum with Bergamot 1.7oz/50ml Eau de Parfum Spray and wear it often. But since we don’t have the same overall aesthetic, we don’t feel like copy cats. 

And yeah, one fragrance can smell quite different on 2 or more people. Another of my faves (especially for scent layering) is KILIAN Paris Black Phantom Eau de Parfum with Coffee & Sandalwood 1.7 oz/ 50 mL Eau de Parfum Spray . Another friend of mine also loves it. Black Phantom has a chocolate scent note that never shows up much when I wear it, but it’s very noticeable when this friend wears it—and I’m still kinda jealous about that. 😅

I don’t really have one signature scent. I love too many different fragrances for that. I’ve already mentioned 2 of ‘em, so I’ll list a few more: 

• Boy Smells Violet Ends (the original version; I haven’t tried the relaunched reformulation yet)
• Papillon Artisan Perfumes Anubis
• Zoologist Tyrannosaurus Rex
• Zoologist Sloth
• Commodity Juice- Personal Eau de Parfum with Raspberry Pulp & Violet Leaf 3.4 oz/ 100 ml eau de parf... 
• Frederic Malle Superstitious (discontinued)

And I’ll stop there, to keep this list from sprawling. 

None of my favorite fragrances are super heavy on vanilla, but thinking about that scent note… next time you’re at a local Sephora, try some testers of Maison Margiela Replica fragrances; you might like Maison Margiela 'REPLICA' Afternoon Delight Eau de Toilette with Vanilla, Madeleine & Sandalwood. If you like a little smoke and wood, try Maison Margiela ‘REPLICA' By the Fireplace Eau de Toilette with Chestnut, Vanilla, and Clove Oil; some vanilla scent lovers end up liking that one. I know a vanilla fragrance fan who loves Lancôme Idôle Eau de Parfum with Rose & Jasmine 1.7 oz/ 50 mL and its flankers.

@HusbandsWifey In my opinion a signature scent is one that you gravitate towards a lot. For me I love ocean, citrus, fruity and/or floral scents. It also depends on my mood.
