Strawberry Legs / Keratosis Pilaris

I'm sure i'm not alone in having what a lot of people refer to as strawberry legs? I'm not 100% sure it's caused by Keratosis Pilaris but many people seem to say it is. What products have worked for you to get smooth clear legs? Is it even possible?

@amber225 Wow, I had no idea there was an actual name for this! I used to get this all the time in my teens because I was obsessed with shaving every single day to get smooth legs. Stupid high school “ideals.” 😑

I’ve now chalked it up as basic irritation because:

- I was shaving every day. 

- I was using a cheap razor and bar soap. 

- I was shaving in a hot steamy shower. 

- I wasn’t moisturizing with a high-quality moisturizer afterward. 

This is what I do now that I think prevents this from happening:

- I only shave once every 3 days. 

- I use a high-quality men’s razor that’s designed for the face, which means it drags a lot less than any women’s razors I’ve tried. My current favourite is Schick's Hydro 5 Sense Hydrate. 

- I use Jack Black Beard Lube® Conditioning Shave 16 oz/ 473 mL  to get a close, super-comfortable shave. Again, men’s shaving products are where it’s at! 😄

- I turn down the shower temperature as low as I can comfortably tolerate it to avoid steaming my skin and opening my pores too much. 

- I moisturize afterward with products such as First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair® Cream Intense Hydration – Face and Body Moisturizer for Skin Repair 6 oz/ 170 g  or Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Visibly Firming Refillable Body Cream with Caffeine-Rich Guaranà 8.1 oz/ 240 mL  or even leftover facial moisturizers that are starting to get old and need to be used up pronto. I recently used the last bits of a big jar of ALGENIST - Genius White Brightening Anti-Aging Cream on my legs and they looked amazing!! 😂

I have Keratosis Pilaris on my arms and the DermaDoctor line is specifically designed for Keratosis Pilaris. I've used it with great results. My favorite product is the KP Duty Lotion. It has alpha hydroxy acids to help moisturize dry, flaky skin. I highly recommend you check out this line. I hope this helps!

Hi @Nairobibella,

The main ingredient in the KP Duty Lotion is glycolic acid which helps exfoliate the skin. The REN CLEAN SKINCARE - AHA Smart Renewal Body Serum has similiar acids that work the same.

I'd recommend that product if you're looking for an alternative.
