How to smell good??

I am just struggling with actually smelling GOOD! I’m not saying I smell bad by any means BUT I smell like nothing! I want to be one of those pretty girls and when they walk by YOU KNOW they smell good. Does anyone have product recommendations or any tips and tricks?

Hey girl! I completely understand this and validate the struggle to smell incredible all the time. I’ve perfected my routine to ensure I get compliments every single time I leave the house on my scent(and I’m not kidding!). Here is my routine. 

Shower: OUAI Mini St. Barts Cleansing Scalp & Body Sugar Scrub 3.4 oz / 100 mL & Moroccanoil Moroccanoil Body™ Soap Fragrance Originale  

Post Shower: Moroccanoil Body Souffle Moisturizer 6.7 oz / 200 mL  ALL OVER MY BODY. LATHER IT UP. For my hair, I use various products but always end with one that has strong scent to it. 
Fragrance: First I use Moroccanoil Hair & Body Fragrance Mist 3.4 oz/ 100 mL  and HEAVILY spray it all over me. It is perfect for a base layer bc it is light but the scent lingers don’t forget to spray your hair as well. Then, I end it will a high quality, long lasting scent that is either a fresh/light floral or a warm floral/spicy scent. My go tos right now are the Valentino Voce Viva Eau de Parfum with Mandarin & Orange Blossom , Maison Margiela ’REPLICA’ Lazy Sunday Morning Limited Edition 3.38 oz / 100 mL eau de toilette spray, Maison Margiela REPLICA' Bubble Bath Eau de Toilette with Soap Bubble, Rose, White Musk, and Coconut Milk , Mugler Alien Eau de Parfum , & Maison Louis Marie No.04 Bois de Balincourt Eau de Parfum 1.7 oz/ 50 mL

I know how you feel girly! I love the sol de janerio products they just don’t last or aren’t strong….my go to has been tree hut! My favorite scents from them are there vanilla, Morrocan rose,and their tropical glow smells like the sol de janerio 62! And Ulta has a gift set now $30 for the tropical glow shower gel,sugar scrub,and body butter when I use it I smell good all day!❤️❤️❤️

1. Lathering is ur best friend! Get a scent set like lotion, mist & body gel wash. 

2. Vaseline before lotion / spray right after shower on damp skin 

3. spray on your clothes like collar neck or sleeve maybe behind ears or in hair depends on ur body mist if it can be put in hair

I find what works the best is if u like vanilla extract the smell of it on ur inner wrists that works for me alllll day a bit sticky but it works tho. Bath body works is good but they’ve changed a lot of their ingredients it’s not the same anymore same thing with Victoria like the perfumes doesn’t last as much as before. Bodylogy from Walmart is good and maybe dove

@Juliaa101 it might be worth looking layering...shower gel, body lotion, edt.  Philosophy has layering kits on QVC.

I agree, it is all trial and error,  your own body will react differently to different scents. I have in the past tried some  very nice scents, that then almost become like too soapy smelling on my own skin chemistry, at other times  almost vinegar. Best to try either samples if available  and then wait a few hours with the one scent to see how your own body chemistry reacts to it. I once had a scent that was to die for  when i wore it, sadly it is no longer  made and I have yet to find one that suits me and what i like.

I find using body scrub products helps. I use them as s second step after using bar soap. I think it helps with my scented lotions and perfumes.

I say maybe you can use some facial spray after you get out of the shower while you’re in the shower maybe you some tree hut sugar scrub then maybe you can smell good

I agree with the sample sets everyone is mentioning because you can get a feel for what suits you personally. 

I like this right now,  Floral Street Sweet Almond Blossom Eau de Parfum 1.7 oz / 50 ml eau de parfum spray  I got it in a tester and thought it was really lovely. 💙

I also like KAYALI UTOPIA VANILLA COCO | 21 Eau De Parfum Intense  and thier KAYALI YUM PISTACHIO GELATO | 33 Eau De Parfum Intense  but these scents are not for everyone and much better to test out in a sample or in store before you buy.

Sephora usually has a ton of perfumes you can sample in store and an associate could help you find specific ones you might be curious to test out. Good luck!

@Juliaa101I agree with @CorgiMommy ...I bought what Sephora calls a library set from them from a few brands. For like 100$ i was able to get the below 2 library sets and its allowing me to smell different every day.  It also helps me figure out which I really like before I pay full price AND which ones match my body chemistry well...again, BEFORE I pay full price for a bottle.  The scents are amazing!  Especially Kayali vanilla and Ellis bee...and Ellis fruit. @Juliaa101 try a few different fragrances if you don't know what you like.  Sephora favorites always has a fragrance set or when a fragrance kit iis offered as a GWP get it.

Layer your fragrance with a body lotion and cologne or body wash and cologne.

@Juliaa101 are you looking for a signature scent? what do you want to smell like? Something like the Sol de Janeiro Beija Flor™ Jet Set  could be an option- you can layer the body wash with the lotion and the body mist. They have lots of scents in the line and they're usually very fresh and pleasing. Scent is very personal so it's hard to say what might smell good to you. Are you looking for a perfume that smells like you're not wearing perfume?
