Dry Shampoo

I'm looking for a dry shampoo that works for my brunette color hair. The typical dry shampoos are white and make my roots look gray.

Thanks! Julia

Klorane makes a product for darker hair. However, it still shows up in my hair at first but when I rub it in for 2 secs. then it disappears and gives the benefit of a dry shampoo.

Re: Dry Shampoo

I've tried many dry shampoos, high end to low end: Blow Pro, Batiste, Living Proof, Tigi, Carol's Daughter, drybar, Renpure, Klorane and many many more that have faded from memory. All of them leave white stuff behind, no matter what I do (unless I use one specifically for darker hair)...except for one trick.

The single best tip I've ever picked up anywhere (and it was right here on BIC) is to use dry shampoo before bed. I have med brown hair and hated everything I tried when I was using it in the morning. But...using it before bed means brand doesn't matter nearly as much; any white residue is gone by the time I get up.

Without dry shampoo, I'd be washing my hair daily; it's that oily. This trick has been magic for me!

Re: Dry Shampoo

I have brown hair as well and my favorite dry shampoo isn't actually from Sephora it's something you can find in any Target. It's Batiste Instant Hair Refresh and towards the bottom it says "with a hint of colour divine dark". It blends in super well for brunette hair and it does it's job really well. It's only $7 (ish) at Target and it's amazing. I haven't tried any Sephora dry shampoo products though if you're looking specifically for a high-end dry shampoo. Here's a picture of it.WIN_20170903_23_17_20_Pro.jpg

I also have brown hair and ran into a similar problem. I do really like Drybar's dry shampoo -largely due to the smell. However it does really work and as long as you work it into your hair you won't see white spots. I'd also highly recommend trying Batiste dry shampoo - inexpensive but actually works incredibly! This stuff is also great cause you can get it in a shade that matches your hair color. No more worrying about removing excess white spray 🙂

Re: Dry Shampoo

I dye my hair various shades of red so I hear you on the grey-out. I like bumble and bumble, but you do really have to rub it in. It creates texture in the hair which is great for up-do's... so a bit of a one trick pony on that front and it's also very expensive. Honestly, I think Dove makes the best dry shampoo for my darker, finer hair. (And shhh!) you can order it on Amazon through their subscribe and save program and get a discount.  I don't like Living Proof's dry shampoo personally, I think it makes my hai look more oily. I love some of their other products (volumizing shampoo and conditioner, style extender), that one just isn't for me.

Re: Dry Shampoo

Forgot to add, I'm brunette'ish and if you don't zzzussh the area (LP says wait 30 seconds after applying to rub in), it will show up. Just blend with your fingertips and no color residue!

Re: Dry Shampoo

Hi! I have tried MANY dry shampoos and my favorite is Living Proof. I use it 3-4 days a week, as I wash my hair every other day (oily scalp, frizz, and color treated - oh my!). If I wash on Monday morning, then I use it that night before bed, as well as Tuesday morning. What's great about LP Dry Shampoo is Sephora sells a trial size you can try before you commit to the big $22 bottle. Although it's worth every penny. Good luck!
