acne

Hello Y'all,

Im new to this community thing. But I have really bad acne on my forehead and chin. I am using the Cetaphil gentle cleanser and pimple patches (from Kroger) and Vanicream for the moisturizer. Does anyone else have ideas, what I should use? or if this routine is good? (I also have very sensitive skin)

Second, I use makeup a lot for theater and for a daily basis. Right now for my foundation:  I use e.l.f flawless satin foundation.  Blush: Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Soft Pinch Liquid Blush.  Mascara: Great Lash from Maybelline. Lip Gloss: Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm for Hydration & Shine Pink Sugar - sheer light pink .  Lip Stick (I only use this for shows): Revlon Lipstick. Finally Setting Spray: Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Mini Always an Optimist 4-in-1 Mist 1.18 fl oz / 35 mL

If yall could help or give advice that would be so helpful!!

Re: acne

Hi, @summerfriyay21 !  First, I agree with @Laura7777777 .  I recommend going to a doctor or dermatologist for a proper diagnosis on your acne.

For skincare, I suggest adding an exfoliator, chemical or physical.  I have been using Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant Refillable Exfoliator for years.  Once or twice a week is all you need.  It helps with skin cell turnover.

I also use Paula's Choice CLEAR Daily Skin Clearing Treatment with 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide 2.25 oz/ 67 mL and SEPHORA COLLECTION 2% Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment Gel 1 oz / 30 mL .  Since my skin is combo/oily, I love #The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Oil Control Serum 2 oz/ 60 mL .

These are all suggestions.  Everyone's skin is different! 🙂

Re: acne

I also use the Cetaphil gentle cleanser and the Cetaphil gentle moisturizer to go with it. Although the lotion generally leaves my face feeling very oily, it looks very glowy. I think your routine is good, because less is always more when it comes to a skincare lineup. If your acne is bothering you I would recommend talking to your doctor, it does not have to be a dermatologist, about your skin concerns. I recently talked to my doctor and she prescribed my tretinoin to help with painful acne on my forehead and chin. If you want to look into treatments I would not recommend getting trending products because they generally don't work for acne prone skin and might make it worse.

Re: acne

Yes, i also use cetiphal, but find youth to the people from hormonal acne and oily skin. My dermatoligist recomended it.
