YSL, Double Wear or Milk?

I desperately need a new foundation but I have been going between these 3 for weeks. YSL all hours, Estee Lauder Double Wear and the Milk Blur Liquid Matte Foundation. I have acne prone and oily skin. No matter what I try my foundation always seems to separate in my t zone. I like medium-full coverage but without feeling cakey and a matte or satin finish. I'm more of a neutral/pink undertones and everything I get always seems to get very yellowish on me and my redness always pops through in irritated areas. Also, what primer do you pair with these if you have a similiar skin type? I've been using benefits porefessional but don't know if I  should use a more mattifying one instead.

Definitely Double Wear - lasts all day and great shade selection.

RE: YSL, Double Wear or Milk?

Lancôme's 24 hour foundation is AMAZING. They also have a kajillion shades. Give it a try you will never turn back !!!

Re: YSL, Double Wear or Milk?

I like double wear. It helps to control oil and it stays longer. But double wear has too many different colors and I'm always struggling to find my shade.

Re: YSL, Double Wear or Milk?

Never Estée Lauder as they test on animals. Try the bare minerals line. It won't irritate your skin and gives full coverage.

Re: YSL, Double Wear or Milk?

I prefer the milk foundation out of all 3

I like double wear. It's awesome and it is a stay out foundation for my combo skin. Not much oil break through either.

Re: YSL, Double Wear or Milk?

Hello Mindysk,

I have oily skin and my go-to primer is Cover FX's Mattifying Primer, I've been using this for about less than a year and it doesn't wear off easily but it isn't sex-proof either. It does help with my acne since it has an anti-acne treatment with an active ingredient of 1.0% salicylic acid; you can apply it with or without makeup. I find that this controls my oiliness in the t-zone without drying my face out completely.

I got a sample of the Porefessional and I found that it rubbed off easily whenever I layered it with foundation (I pat not spread with a Beauty Blender) but that's just my skin being fussy.

I have heard many great things about the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation although I haven't tried it myself because I've been broke lol but I heard it's water-proof so it might help out with your oiliness. Out of the three, I would try this one first. Of course, if your skin doesn't like it, you're able to exchange it.

Sometimes it depends on your skin routine too, like what cleanser, toner, and moisturizer you use as well.

For your redness, have you tried colour correcting..? (:

Hope this somewhat helped.. or at least gave you an idea. Have a wonderful day!

Re: YSL, Double Wear or Milk?

Hi! Thank you!

I was actually just looking at that primer today! I think i'm going to give it a try.

I have swatched Double Wear but I haven't been able to test it on my face. I could tell that it was full coverage just from how thick it was coming out lol. I used to use bareminerals and all of my foundations had golden undertones but that isn't working for me anymore. I think thats what makes me hesitant about DW, all the shades I feel like it would take me forever to get the right one lol. I live out of the country too so mailing back and forth takes forever.

I use Mario Badescu's line right now, it seems to be keeping new breakouts at bay but doesn't do much for what is already there. Hopefully I find my holy grail skincare soon too!

I do color correct but it's almost as if i'm having to put it over my whole face to get it all. I used to use the green smashbox primer but that did the same thing for me as the porefessional. Maybelline fit me has worked pretty decently for me shade wise but it just doesn't give quite enough coverage.
