I’m fighting acne lately and I never include sunscreen in my skincare routine please can someone please enlighten me it importance of sunscreen and what’s your best sunscreen suggestions for me

@Mia020294  The more time you spend in the sun, the drier your skin gets and the more sebum (oil) it produces to compensate for lost moisture. This can lead to more acne. Also, UV rays can cause/worsen hyperpigmentation, including acne dark marks. And the sun can cause other skin damage like wrinkles, flaking, and cancer. So, wear the hecking sunscreen whenever your skin will be exposed to sunlight (even if you’re just sitting in a vehicle’s window seat for a long time), all year long, regardless of weather or season. 

Which sunscreen’s best for you depends on your personal preferences. I mean, “the best sunscreen” is whichever one you’ll actually use consistently. Mineral/physical (zinc oxide), chemical, and hybrid sunscreens all work largely the same way, so one type’s not safer than the others unless you’re sensitive to a specific ingredient. Chemical sunscreens are usually invisible on skin while mineral sunscreens can have a white cast—unless they’re tinted to hide that zinc oxide color. 

A popular chemical option (and one I often use) is Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen Invisible Broad Spectrum SPF 40 PA +++ 2.5 oz / 73.9 mL . I’ve also been liking the hybrid Supergoop! Protec(tint) Daily SPF Tint SPF 50 Sunscreen Skin Tint with Ectoin despite its price per ounce. If you have a local Trader Joe’s, their facial sunscreen’s a good inexpensive sub for Unseen Sunscreen, though TJ’s feels thicker and a bit greasier to me. Black Girl Sunscreen and Sun Bum are a couple other brands to consider, but there are plenty of other good options. Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Hydra Vizor Huez Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum Mineral Spf 30 Sunscreen 4 comes in a range of shades to mask zinc oxide white cast, and it’s a nice sunscreen. 

You can save money by trying the body version of a brand’s sunscreen on your face (yes, that’s generally safe to do). Example: Bondi Sands makes a chemical body sunscreen that comes in a bigger tube than their facial sunscreen and costs less per ounce.

this isn’t Sephora but there’s this brand called black girl sunscreen thats super light and clear
