Spot treatment for acne

I want to buy a spot treatment for pimples. It's not that I get so many that I need an all-over acne treatment, but I have translucent skin, so when I get them, they stand out like crazy.

Does anyone have a recommendation or a favorite?

Mario Badescu Buffering lotion is awesome from those big underground pimples that feel like a rock under your skin,  Once you feel one forming, put a drop or two on it and within a few days it will clear up!

Mario Badescu Drying lotion is a great from pesky whiteheads!

I use the Kate Summerville's spot treatment I believe it's called eradikate and it works wonders on those pesky pimples , I highly recommend that product.

Re: Spot treatment for acne

Hi Andrea 😃

One tip is to add a drop or two of tea tree oil to a cotton pad with a gentle toner, and to hold it onto the pimple for 30-60 seconds.  Tea tree oil is a natural antiseptic and isn't too irritating to the skin (when it's diluted), though you might feel a bit of tingling.  I use it when I feel a pimple starting and also after one pops to disinfect the area.

I've used the Mario Badescu drying lotion for spot treating white heads specifically and heard that the Kate Somerville EradiKate is very similar.  After I cleanse, tone, and moisturize at night I apply the pink sediment with a q tip to white heads - it helps dry them out so you don't have to pop them and risk spreading bacteria.

Make sure you close the lid tight otherwise the alcohol will evaporate. Also you don't want to shake the jar, which makes it a bit difficult to travel with. I've been meaning to pick up some of the Kate Somerville To Go applications to have while travelling

I hope that helps!

For me, Korean products have worked best. Although these products aren't available on Sephora, it has helped with with my acne. I used the Centella Blemish Cream and the Kalirs Midnight Cream. If you have the funds, Troiaruke has an amazing acne line.

Re: Spot treatment for acne

I just got the Kate Somerville eradicate spot solution from a friend amd have been using it monthly for hormonal breakouts but my friend struggles daily with it and it really works for her. I have tried just about every spot solution on the market and so far this is the best.

Re: Spot treatment for acne

Use a benzoyl Peroxide treatment on your skin at night to destroy any bacteria on your skin to prevent pimples. Retinol which you can obtain over the counter at a lower does, is a chemical peel that you can apply at night only (sunlight to retinol can cause bleaching of skin, irritation, and possibly damage to skin) to remove dead skin. I would also say to try an exfoliator in the morning to remove any dead skin from sleeping or any collection of oils on your skins surface. Tarte has an exfoliator stick ($29 CDN) that has charcoal within it (proven to improve pimples). Fresh has a sugar face polish ($30-$76 CDN)  which requires a minor amount; simply rub to remove dead skin and excess oil.

Also if you find you have oily skin, try a matte foundation and a matte primer before your makeup.

Mario Badescu drying lotion for the surface ones and the buffering lotion for the ones that start underneath before they really show (if you get that kind). They work really fast without having to use benzoyl peroxide!

Re: Spot treatment for acne

I recently bought the Kate Somerville EradiKate spot treatment for the random pimple that pops up. Love it!
