Sol de Janeiro

Does anybody know if sol de janeiro is acne safe? I've been thinking about trying it out but my skin is super sensitive and a lot of products make it break out, so I would love to hear any experiences you've had with it!

Re: Sol de Janeiro

@lelysen  If you’re talking about your body skin (not facial skin): I’ve used Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Visibly Firming Refillable Body Cream with Caffeine-Rich Guaranà on my shoulders, which are acne-prone. I didn’t use it daily though, just a couple days a week when I wasn’t using my usual unscented body cream. I didn’t get more acne on my shoulders. But if your body skin is sensitive to fragrance, SdJ’s body creams, oils, washes, and sunscreen are loaded with it so you may wanna avoid them.

For facial skin, the only SdJ product I’d maybe try is Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Kiss Cupuaçu Lip Butter 0.21 oz/ 6.2g. That’s the only product the brand has tested on facial skin and recommends using on the face as a moisturizer or dewy highlighter. But since this lip balm has the same scent as the Bum Bum Cream, I wouldn’t use it on my own face (my facial skin’s sensitive to fragrance). And I can’t say it will or won’t cause acne.

Re: Sol de Janeiro

@lelysen SDJ products are meant for body, not face. If you are looking for products meant specifically for sensitive skin on your face, First Aid Beauty is a good brand to check out.

Re: Sol de Janeiro

Don’t put any of the products on your face, it’s going to clog your pores and CAUSE acne. But it’s safe for acne 🥰
