Secrets for Hiding Deep Acne Scars

I don’t really know what category to put this, but figured this is a good place to start. I have a really hard time finding a foundation or primer that works to hide my deep acne scars. Everything I wear is either too light of coverage, or makes me really cakey and makes the scars way more visible. I have a huge event coming up and I really want to look my best. What are some secrets or great products to use to hide them? I have combo skin. I also wouldn’t mind any suggestions on how to get rid of these suckers 😖

RE: Secrets for Hiding Deep Acne Scars

Deep acne scars is my number one struggle with my skin. It’s best in the long run to fix the scars rather then try and hide them. My absolute biggest suggestion is to get monthly microneedling facials. (Don’t try the at home rollers you do more damage to your skin) the facials are 100% worth the price you pay for the face you wear every day and you don’t have to get them forever. I wish I knew how to post pictures because I would show you the progression my face has made. If you want to See some results for yourself just google micro needling before and after and the results will literally amaze you. But yes also be careful because a lot of before and after pictures are edited but you will get the gist of how much of a difference it makes with your skin.Another suggestion that I have is using a serum with lactic acid and also once a week try using an aha and bha facial peel. Good luck!

I’ve had scars like yours, but got them reduced after 5 Fraxel sessions when I was around 19. I’ve had like 70% improvement.

Re: Secrets for Hiding Deep Acne Scars

I feel you, I also have rolling acne scars on both cheeks that make me frustrated. In the long run, the only thing that is helping them fade over the past few months is prescription retinoids from my dermatologist - I'm using Epiduo Forte. As far as makeup, stay away from extra dewy foundations, shimmer, or highlight, which makes scars look worse - matte or natural matte products are ideal for blurring and softening the features. The primer that works best for me is tarte poreless mattifying face primer. For foundation, it depends on your personal preferences, but for natural-looking full coverage, day or night, I recommend NARS - All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation. If I want some extra spot-concealing power, I go with NARS Soft Matte Complete Full Coverage Longwear Concealer with Hyaluronic Acid Biscuit. Those three are my absolute favorites. I haven't yet found my ideal setting powder, but I do like TOO FACED - Peach Perfect Mattifying Setting Powder – Peaches and Cream Collection. Hope that helps!
