Need suggestions for light summer foundation

Here’s the skinny:

i don’t struggle with shiny,greasy skin in the winter but I don’t have to keep up with salicylic acid clears to keep breakouts at bay. My skin is virtually clear fall and winter. Now it seems , boom, oil slick face. I use Oil of Olay almost year round but now it’s tacky and sticky- shiny gross forehead. I need a moisturizer for summer that will do the job, sink in but not leave me feeling sticky and gross. 

I tried a few full coverage , high end, foundations and I hate them. And don’t need them. It’s like I can feel them all day. I want something doesn’t make me want to wash my 

face by noon because it’s so slimy feeling. I tried Tati’s Wet and Wild rave and that foundation is awful!

What are you using for natural or light coverage if you have oily skin and acne prone?

Moisturizer?

i played with the Loreal Glotion and it was a huge breakout disaster. Do NOT try it.

I have some of the same issues and I use Tarte’s BB Tinted Primer instead of foundation in the summer because it’s very light. It doesn’t have a ton of coverage but it smoothes out my complexion enough and it works GREAT on oily skin, though not good on dry patches. I can’t stand to put anything heavier than that on my face when it’s sweating season. It also hasn’t made me break out.

I have been using My Armani To Go Essence-In-Foundation Cushion, somehow cannot tag it here. 

I have so much oil on my forehead and nose, but cheeks are dry. This cushion gives really even texture on my face, also lightweight. 

also recommend double wear, but I use this cushion more because its really easy to put on.

I have acne prone skin that's essentially dry in the colder months and oily in the warmer months. For oily skin a gel moisturizer is recommended. I use Origins GinZing Energy-Boosting gel moisturizer. It's lightweight and oil-free so no tacky feeling! It hydrates your skin and makes it look radiant but not oily. I prime my face with Hourglass Mineral Veil, then set it with Kat Von D Lock It Setting Powder, apply Estee Lauder Double Wear with a beauty blender, conceal with Too Faced Born This Way Multi-Use Concealer, set my face with the Kat Von D, and use Urban Decay All Nighter. By setting my face with powder before foundation it combats the oil and allows my makeup to stay all day! I'm talking about 18+ hours. It's even dry sauna proof. I spend 30 mins in 200°F and IT DOESN'T BUDGE! Good luck!

Highly recommend the Tatcha Water Cream!! Amazing moisturizer for combo or oily skin.

As for foundation, right now I use the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea foundation, but I think I'll be looking for another brand after I use this up as it doesn't blend into the skin as good as I thought it did. Could be the brush I'm using though. It is lightweight and buildable though.

I had the same problem with that foundation! I’m using the Este Lauder double wear and it’s AMAZING!

You should try out the DIOR - BACKSTAGE Face & Body Foundation it's lighter in coverage and feel and I find it wears so well!

I second the tatcha watercream and the silk canvas primer both amazing and if you want a quicker version the silk cream is kinda like both mixed together in one. Highly recommended and it hasn’t broken me out at all.

also.. i’ve heard great things about Tatcha Water Cream for a moisturizer. maybe go to your local sephora and sample Ole Henrikesen and Tatcha?

hi! my skin is the same... kinda. i have acne prone skin, a little oily but since i use salicylic acid and other acne treatments my skin gets very dry. i’ve been on the hunt for a good moisturizer that doesn’t feel too thick and i think i’ve found the one. i’ve been using Ole Henriksen C-Rush Gel Moisturizer and it’s amazing! if you read the reviews, some say it feels sticky but believe me when i say a little goes a long way!!! i usually have to load up on face moisturizer but with this stuff i only need a VERY little bit for my whole face. my make up goes on so much smoother since i started using. now onto summer makeup.. i’m currently looking for a good foundation as well but i will tell you that during my research, i’ve read a ton of reviews of people raving about BB creams and tinted moisturizers for the summer.. one in particular is the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue. i’m going to give it a try once summer is in full swing so its definitely worth looking into!!!
