Moisturizer

Is there a great facial moisturizer, for oily and blemish prone skin? Can be from other beauty stores as well. Thanks!

Re: Moisturizer

I've got a few I vary based on my skin's specific needs at the time.

Caudalie Vinopure Oil-Control Moisturizer for Acne Prone Skin 1.35 oz / 40 mL

first aid beauty oil control moisturizer (can't tag for whatever reason)

#Skinfix barrier+ Skin Barrier Niacinamide Refillable Restoring Gel skinfix

Vichy normaderm anti-acne double Action lotion (contains salicylic acid which I use on days my acne is more active)

LA Roche posay effaclar mat is a decent option for us with oily skin. It's not super mattifing but it does a bit and it's reasonably priced

The above suggestions I use more in the am as they're lighter which is essential if you're going to follow with makeup.

For evening I love:

No7 hydra luminous overnight recovery gel (shoppers drug mart)

Laneige water bank moisturizer isn't gel cream but its a lighter cream moisturizer LANEIGE Mini Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Cream Moisturizer .67 oz/ 20 mL

I've heard good things about clinique moisture surge 100h moisturizer. They have alot of different moisturizers and I spoke to an advisor on their site and got the details on which would be best for me- the moisture surge 100h is a more gel moisturizer as opposed to the 72h which is for dry skin (will be too occlusive for us with oily skin).

A good general rule of thumb is to stick with moisturizers in a gel-cream, "water-cream" etc texture/consistency. Some moisturizers especially those for dry skin are much too occlusive (with moisturizing agents: works by forming a protective layer on the surface of your skin and create a barrier to prevent moisture loss) and will very likely break us out because of this.

One of the absolute biggest and incorrect misconceptions is that oily skin does NOT need moisturizer- please please do not skip moisturizer! You're only going to be doing more damage that way. It causes your skin to over produce oil in an attempt to hydrate it's self.

Hope these help!

Re: Moisturizer

@ReneeEgan  thank you so much! It’s helpful!

Re: Moisturizer

I just use the hydrating cera ve facial cleanser

Re: Moisturizer

Thank you!

Re: Moisturizer

It depends on how oily you are. I’m pretty oily myself so I skip the moisturizer and just use spf in the morning. The inkey list omega water cream is the most lightweight moisturizer I’ve ever used. Another great option is the oat water cream by Krave beauty.

Re: Moisturizer

I love the CeraVe pm facial moisturizing lotion for my oily skin
