Let’s talk butt acne 🙊🙈

So I’ve got it. Painful. I don’t get it anywhere else but my face, should I use the same products on my butt or is there something more powerful, or just more targeted to that? Anyone else tried anything for theirs that worked? Send help

Totally get where you're coming from — butt acne (aka folliculitis or "buttne") is more common than most people think, and it can be super frustrating and painful . The skin on the butt is thicker and gets more friction, so it often needs a slightly different approach than facial acne.

What helped me (and others I’ve read about) is using a targeted butt acne lotion — something lightweight, non-comedogenic, and formulated with ingredients like salicylic acid (BHA) or niacinamide, which help unclog pores and calm inflammation. Products designed specifically for the butt often have the right pH and texture for that area, and don’t clog pores under clothes.

Other tips:

• Wear breathable fabrics

• Avoid harsh scrubbing (can irritate more)

• Shower after sweating

• Try using a gentle chemical exfoliant 2–3x a week

I’ve also seen some people benefit from lotions made for keratosis pilaris if the bumps are more textured than inflamed.

@Jess9009 I was just listening to a beauty podcast that talked about this! I think it's super normal. I'll try to find the podcast, but I think the suggestion was to use an acne wash on your bum in the shower, something like the Cerave SA Cleanser.
