Indented Acne Scars

Hi there,

I'm trying to help my fiance with his indented acne scars. He had really bad acne when he was in this teens. His skin has gotten better now but there are still scars on his face. The main issue is not discoloration but texture. Is there any way to get those to disappear before our wedding next year? I tried convincing him on getting a microneedler but he doesn't think at home microneedling will work.

Any serums? At home tools? Clinical procedures you recommend?

RE: Indented Acne Scars

Microneedling in-office is really great for indented acne marks. I’ve had better success with that than microdermabrasion. He could always try to get into a dermatologist where they could do these treatments or do some medical grade peels. I think it really depends on the severity ofthe marks and playing around until he finds a skincare system that works for his marks. As far as at home treatment, I actually do like using an at home dermal roller. ORA is a good brand for that, I have their deeper micro needle depth. It’s not as effective as an office treatment but doing it regularly has helped improve my skin texture. I do sometimes have irritation/redness from it and it isn’t exactly the best feeling thing to do. I would suggest watching a YouTube video to learn dermal rolling techniques and make sure the dermal roller is sanitized before use. I cleanse first, apply a toner, a snail mucin essence and apply a round of serum. My current serums have been The Ordinary’s hyaluronic acid 2% and Dr. Jart’s cicapair tiger grass serum. After I derma roll I add another round of serum and moisturize. I do this every 4-6 days, less if my skin is irritated. In the past I’ve used AHA peeling products and still use retinol. These all can help too! Congratulations on you guys’ engagement, what an exciting time for y’all and I hope you can both enjoy some pampering before the big day !
