ISO skincare routine for tactupump

I am currently using tactupump topical treatment to deal with my acne as well as taking oral medication (100mg spironolactone). I am desperately in need of a new skincare routine as my skin has been extremely dry from these treatments but also still fairly oily, I assume my skin is overproducing oil to compensate for the dryness but no matter how much moisturizer I use it doesn’t seem to improve at all. I have tried the Kiehls ultra facial gel and Ordinary natural moisturizing factors + beta glucan for light weight moisturizers to avoid clogging my pores but they’re just not hydrating enough. I’m currently using FAB ultra repair cream 2x a day but even this doesn’t seem to be doing the trick as my skin absorbs it so fast. I’m unsure if I need to add moisturizing serums into my routine or if I just need a better moisturizer and stick to the bare-bones skin care routine due to the harsh topical treatment I’m on. I think I also need to change the cleanser I use, I was using cetaphil gentle cleanser for a bit but switched to la Roche posay effaclar as I was still having break outs using cetaphil so thought I needed to opt for something more geared towards acne prone skin. My skin is an absolute nightmare and I’ve been dealing with these issues for years, I’m at a loss as I have no idea what to use and can’t afford to keep changing products. If anyone has had similar issues and figured out a basic yet effective skincare routine for dry, acne prone & sensitive skin please let me know🙏 I’ve been looking at the Ordinarys new Rice lipids & microemulsion moisturizer/serum and I think that is what I will try next but would love to get recommendations from people who had experiences similar to mine, TIA🫶🏼

Re: ISO skincare routine for tactupump

With tretinoin based treatments like tactupump the issue is usually that people jump straight to moisturizer when the real fix is layering a humectant like hyaluronic acid or urea underneath your moisturizer on damp skin first, because without something actively pulling water into the skin your moisturizer is just sitting on top of a depleted barrier trying to seal in moisture that isn't really there yet.
